If they say nothing, fans get angry and raise their pitchforks and refuse to buy Switch even though Nintendo may quietly be producing a game in the franchise.

If they give so much as an acknowledgement to the fans, the fans will still get angry and raise pitchforks because they do not have enough information in that moment.

I say what we got certainly beats getting nothing.

They probably just announced this so people won't get mad at no Metroid for Switch. They did the same thing for the new Pokemon game as well. It shows they are listening. Maybe if I start yelling about Pikmin 4 we will actually see something about that game.

So basically just because everyone was whining about it lol.

I know this is very anti-Nintendo of them to do, so I'm very happy that they realized that this was what fans wanted to hear. Plus they would've been chastised something fierce if they announced a 3DS metroid and not Prime 4.

I think announcing Metroid 4 cleared the air and allows people to be more pumped for Samus Returns. Instead of being like, "Yeah but where's Prime 4?"

I was disappointed that the 2 biggest news on Nintendo's E3 was poorly announced. They definitely should've waited to show something which would've blew up the internet even bigger.

Yep that too! Having some confirmation back 2 back was a great thing to do. E3 2018 for Nintendo is looking very good. 

I agree and we didn't even see a new DKC game, Animal Crossing or a new Smash game!

Who wants to bet it'll release before FFVIIR or KH3?
