Forums - Microsoft - Digital Foundry: Anthem Xbox One X E3 Demo - Is it the Real Deal?

Athem was probaly the most visually stunning game at E3. It was running on Xbox One X hardware and using 4K checkerboard rendering.

And the end product likely won't look anything like it.

Digital foundry highlighted several areas such as pop in on foliage, some motion blur not quite being perfect and particle effects above/on water not quite being pc ultra settings being cutbacks to make this footage feasible on xbox one X hardware. I'll take their word for it, thanks.

Not to mention this is pre alpha footage...

This game looks dope and Xbox One X is the best console to play it.

Its checkerboarded... so half of 4k... and 30fps, but it looks insane.
I still have a hardtime believeing that was running on the xbox one X (and not a pc), it looks insane.

If it ends up running & looking like this when its released I dont think anyone will care that its checkerboarded, instead of true 4k.

Also as someone mentioned above, it will probably be 2160p on XOX, and 1800p on PS4pro.

I don't really care about the resolution, I just want it! ...but it is so far away...😒

If it does look like that on release that will be pretty fucking sweet.

Game looks like crap.

I don't know. Looks boring to me.

you have some highly detailed, colorful and impressive crap - you should get that checked out

@topic)

while this may have run on an XxX dev kit (which afaik is quite a bit more powerful than the retail unit) I doubt they will be able to make the whole game this highly detailed - as Richard said in the video, this is a "vertical slice" and boy did we see impressive ones in the past, which unfortunately got dialed back quite a bit (Witcher 3, The Division, Watch_Dogs, ..)
