Are you serious ? Your comment is not good for a great discussion here. A typical comment from a Nintendo fan(boy), sry for the truth. You would make every minigame & smarthphone-game over all other games - if it is from Nintendo. Apart from this, it does not alter the fact with the new announcements of the E3. The "switch" is ignored. Your half comment does not contribute to the topic. Good exclusiv-games has every console, if you like Sony / Nintendo / Microsoft.

By the way: We can bet, end of the year: Persona 5 >>> XC2 (Story, Gameplay, Characters and Ratings/Sales Figures). Also Ni No Kuni 2 will have better ratings (and sales figures) than XC2.

Nintendo Switch will have more exclusive games than either the PS4 or XB1. This is important to note because you try to create a narrative where Switch has a serious problem because of missing out on the games listed in the OP as well as future projects. For whatever reason you removed the opening paragraph of my previous post.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on why you'd personally not buy a Switch despite it being bound to have several exclusive JRPGs.

A strange discussion with you. play you only on nintendo-consoles? Really strange - You are in the discussion and say something like "Other games are not important, Nintendo games are the best / references".

Each console company develops its own good games. Do not you see how many multi-games do not appear on switch? Exclusives has every console-company. Imagine if Nintendo would develop only 3-4 games or no minigames. Then the console would already be dead. Nintendo must develop many games, because many multi-games do not appear on the switch.

The same question to you: "I'd like to hear your thoughts on why you'd personally not buy a PS4 despite it being bound to have several exclusive JRPGs." This question has nothing to do with the subject. (But I'll give you the answer .. for me - a stronger switch-hardware please in 1-2 years.) For the current hardware and the (bad) 3rd party support I have no interest.

Proof? PS4 got and is getting a lot of exclusives this year.

Also, aren't there only like two exclusive JRPGs confirmed for Switch ATM?

Switch is for Nintendo first party, third party deals using Nintendo IP, some indies, and a decent amount of A-AA Japanese third party support.

the industry doesn't need a console with loads of third party games performing and looking far worse than anywhere else, it needs something else, and that is what Nintendo provides

I think the biggest problem are threads like these...... xD

No but seriously, we are in the middle of the generation where Nintendo fans would have already gotten a 2nd system (PC,XB1, PS4) to play their favorite third party games. It would be cool to play thise games you listed on the go, but the hardware doesn't seem to be quite there yet.

Like I said before, it just need to get a Wii U + 3DS treatment. And that is what it feels like its happening and more.

Pocky Lover Boy!

Most of the big 3Rd party AAA titles will never hit the Switch. Not sure why anybody thought it would get good third party support in the first place.

The best open world game of the year: Breath of the Wild. Not available on PS4 and XB1.
The best fun-racer of the year: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Not available on PS4 and XB1.
The best third person shooter of the year: Splatoon 2. Not available on PS4 and XB1.
The best 3D platformer of the year: Super Mario Odyssey. Not available on PS4 and XB1.
The best JRPG of the year: Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Not available on PS4 and XB1.

There's simply no reason to lose sleep over inconsequential AAA games that won't be coming to Switch. Switch's third party support will be fine as it's going to absorb the 3DS's. For example, recently Atlus confirmed the Western release of Etrian Odyssey V and two other exclusive JRPGs that will be skipping PS and Xbox. Considering how the Switch sells in Japan (clean streak of being the #1 hardware in every week since its launch), Nintendo's latest console will be blessed with a lot of high quality JRPGs that won't be available on PlayStation (and not on Xbox anyway).

Quite honestly, there is really no use arguing with that kind of rationalization.  You just skip it and move on.  Whatever is on the platform that person plays on becomes "the best," even if they have no idea whatsoever.  My little cousin used to do that and everything he didn't have he called "dumb".  Some of those games aren't even out.  It's just  not really worthy of actual discussion.

I mean, proclaiming that a rather okay-ish looking RPG is going to definitely be better than Persona 5 or any of the many, many other RPGs yet to be released?  Heh.  Chuckle and move on, dude.

With how many Nintendo games of the past 20 years did you have first-hand experience?

What's that got to do with anything at all?

I'm not the one saying an unreleased game is "the best", especially not when there is a game out in the same genre with a 93 rating that many people feel is a classic.

Is it better than Persona 5 or any of the other games that are yet to be released?  I have no idea--and neither do you.  Not unless you're making up your mind based on something other than the actual game, of course.

Last year Nintendo had 24 good exclusives compared to Sony's 13 and Microsoft's 3. Worth of note is that Nintendo accomplished this feat with a total of only ~100 reviewed games while Sony had almost 500 and Microsoft almost 300.

There's no good reason to believe that Nintendo won't be on top in the coming years as the software output for Wii U and 3DS will be merged into one platform, the Switch.

Nintendo had more exclusives, or the Wii U did? We're talking about one platform, right?

And are we talking only first party exclusivses or all exclusives, because I have a hard time believing Sony got only 13 last year.

Kazuma, I'm sure you're a nice guy and your heart is in the right place. But I think you need to stop belaboring this Switch/AAA third-party situation.

A few things:

1) Nintendo designed Switch in such a way that it precludes most "AAA" third-party games
2) Nintendo designed Switch in such a way that it can be successful without most "AAA" third-party games
3) Switch will most likely inherit the support given to WiiU, 3DS, and Vita
4) Those rushing to buy a Switch know they won't be getting most "AAA" third-party games, and they don't mind
5) You love PS4 and its games, but some people prefer Nintendo games. Just as you ask for your opinions to be taken seriously, you should respect the opinions of Nintendo fans
6) Your passion for PS4 is admirable. Your proselytizing on its behalf is not. You don't need to work so hard to steer people away from Nintendo. It's good there are different products on the market for different folks. Embrace that diversity

Just my two cents.

We are talking about what the Switch is going to have. Do you doubt that the Wii U and 3DS software pipelines will get merged into one?

It's about all exclusives. Sony had only 13 that scored 75 or above on Metacritic last year.

Oh, for some reason I thought you just meant this year.

I don't think the math on merging libraries is as simple as 1+1, though.

If it's about all exclusives, I don't see why you'd exclude low rated games. That's not all.
