"Well, you don't get anymore cut-and-dry than this. I can at least appreciate the direct response. This comes from an Activision rep.

“Call of Duty: WWII will not be coming to the Nintendo Switch,”

No reason was given for this decision. What you read above is the only info we get. Let's hope Activision has some other content for Switch in the future."

Although CoD is a series I could care less about, when you consider that it is one of the most mainstream series in gaming, this news is a bit concerning when considering potential and future 3rd party support for the Nintendo Switch's lifecycle.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

oh well guess i'll be saving money then. I used to buy it on Wii U so that I could play locally with my mate on two different screen. Same could haven been done with two switch consoles.

Well this game not coming to the Switch is old news.

Sorry you're so disappointed, but it doesn't seem like the major publishers have really bought into the Switch.

To be fair, I'm not sure how CoD would work 'on the go'. The campaign would be fine me connectivity would be an issue with an consistent wifi connection.

Not surprising. At least they stated it clearly that it won't come to the Switch unlike some other vague developer.

A handheld gamer only (for now).

I guess that means Splatoon is safe from competition. Good for Nintendo.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I can't even remember the last Call of Duty game I cared about. I have the ability to buy any Call of Duty I want (PC gamer) and they don't even blip on my radar.

But still, this is a loss for those who enjoy the series.

Still don't see why the older PS3/360 era CODs like Black Ops 2/3 couldn't be ported.

Feels like mainstream devs (even on the Japanese side) are very cold on Switch, even if it sells like the Wii I think devs weren't happy even with the Wii era as most sales were either Nintendo IP or casual/waggle franchises like Just Dance and Carnival Games so third parties might want to see an actual variety of sales on certain genre types before committing. Also these days resources are more precious to devs so giving Nintendo a custom designed version in many cases maybe far more of a pain in the ass these days.

Given the Switch line up I don't think many people were even thinking of COD let alone expecting it, people aren't buying Switch for games like COD tbh.

Too bad. If the NS can pick up speed, then Activision might still put COD on.

Nintendo should have done the same with Activision as they did with EA. Just getting COD from Activision would have been a good way to begin turning (some of) the tide on western 3rd party support.
