Forums - Nintendo - Your first console and its importance

My first system was a BBCB and it had some of the best games ever created, Chuckie Egg, Jet Set Willy, Manic Miner and around 20 Ultimate play the game Games (now Called Rareware) such as Jetman and SaberWulf,

What an awsome computer, Also the games were on cassettes and had a hex counter when they loaded and slowly drew a splash screen whilst the games loaded, couple that with constant colour overlap of sprites, pure joy must of had around 100 games for it.

Man you guys make me feel old... I still love the Atari 2600... so many great memorys... the best game was Pitfall... the first jump and run I ever played... and thats about all you did... jump and run... games don´t need to be complex to be great...

First console I played was the Megadrive,

then had a go on the Playstation,

then I bought a Megadrive.

I had a couple of goes on Mario Kart on the SNES, but not long enough to get into it.

also tried the original GB

eventually I sold my Megadrive for an N64 (it was about here I got into gaming properly)

Had a few goes on my friends PS2

Bought a Gamecube

Same friend also had an Xbox and GC

tried a PSP (no games though)

sold my GC before the Wii release

had a go on a DS (Mario Kart)

bought a Wii.

---------

That is all my gaming history I think. in order. only 4 console I owned though (MD, N64, GC, Wii)

I don't really have any attachment to the Megadrive as a console though, only to the Micro machines games on it.

My N64 I did in fact sell but I then bought my sisters a week later.
My GC I have the most attachment to I suppose, I don't know why it is just a lovely machine... however I sold that because I knew the Wii was fully backward compatible.

Atari 2600.

I owned it for about 2years prior to getting a NES in 1986. My 2600 was awesome, I had a big box full of carts and every controller available. Had a great time with all those games.

So much so that I have almost purchased that flashback setup Atari has out. I keep thinking of getting it for my little ones. Simple and very fun.

SNES

It was ok, but by far my worst console, I can play most of its games on my gameboy advance.
