Day one for me :)

Around the Network

It looks good for now. I need to see gameplay of the world and characters to see if it's even great.

What are you talking about?  There are shadows.

Also, I don't see a lack of ambition here, it's just different.  Which that may be the approach, do it Final Fantasy style with only thematic connections.

Voice acting is uneven though.  Won't pass judgment just yet cause the original XC had rough moments in its performances but they turned out good on the whole.  So we'll see.

Yep, awesome shadow work.

First screenshot he is in water, that obscures his shadow.  The other fight in the grassy region has shadows.  The second image does have shadows, it's just the source light is traight above and the image quality of your capture is bad.  And the last one, it's overcast.  Many games fade or even completely wash out shadows if it is overcast.

There are numerous evidences of shadows in the trailer.

If you say so. There was a brim of the hat trailer for the flower sword girl, and the windmill, that's about it. If they're there, and I do see a few in spots, then the shadow effects aren't good.

On the stream, they did point out that polish was still being applied to the graphics. So it should be fine since they got six months left.

Watching the Treehouse stream, and the large, open vistas look lovely. I'll be getting a Switch as soon as I can afford one.

Go see the stream at treehouse now people. The game looks very very good.I would go so far to say beautiful in a way.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
