Well, it'd be a bit hard shoving UMDs into the Blu-Ray slot, but I guess they could try porting over the games digitally, but that makes licensing much trickier.
I do think they need to make a PS1 emulator for the PS4. Otherwise, the PS1 Classics will have no purpose on the store after a couple of years. And make it able to smooth out textures and have AA, like the PS2 on PS4 games do. Speaking of which, I want a larger library of those games. Starting with Silent Hill 2-4.
Of course, none of that will win them E3. No, what they're going to do is what's going to win them E3. Games, exclusives and 3rd party, being shown. Maybe a megaton or two.
Nah. I really couldn't give a fuck if my PS4 ever plays anything other than PS4 games. If I want to play my PS1 and PS2 games, I'll turn on my PS2.
The lack of backwards compatibility for PS1 games is one of the reasons I'm pretty disappointed with PS4. I'll be very happy if I get PS1 compatibility.
