It's about what some of us were thinking, but higher than what we were hoping.

Also, we now have Geoff saying $500 and Pachter saying $400. Who will be right?

Pachter said $400? Pack it up ladies and gentlemen. It's going to be 599. I'm off to get another job.

Surprised so many negative posts.
Keep in mind this is comeing from a Sony fan:

Its probably worth the 499$, in terms of whats inside hardware wise.
This isnt MS being greedy with the price. This is them makeing a monster of a console.
It costs to make such a beast.

This is for the die hard xbox fans, that want to play in 4k.
Not to "save xbox" and suddenly take sales away from Playstation 4.
Its a premium product, thats priced higher than the PS4pro.

Sorry double post

Dam and I though the Switch's $300 was too much... (Lie)
People should either buy a PC or deal with what they have already bought.

And who is Geoff Keighley?

A well known gaming journalist. Has a big following. No doubt has industry connections.

IF this is true, and that's a very big IF, then it seems that management over at Xbox continues to make bad decisions. $400 was the price that I think a lot of people were anticipating and this will be a huge blow to momentum out the gate.

He is also someone who I'd correct ASAP were I Microsoft.

This was kind to be expected, what with Digital Foundry's guess and Microsoft marketing, but still. Dumb.

When they said it'd be a premium console, they meant it.

And ? Here where I live 399 is like 1700 and 499 is like 2200

PS4Pro get discounted to 1700 with a game just 2 days ago. Lets guess what will sell better.

Thanks Geoff. That'll be all.

lol

Whoever runs that account, is on point, and always quick with a witty reply.

Yes, Kaz is a witty man.

Also even if Geoff Keighley did know about the actual price, why would he feel the need to tweet about it now when the conference is literally in 5 hours?
