You... REALLY think that the PS4 won't outsell Wii even if PS5 doesn't launch till 2020? What the hell do you think there shipments are going to look like.
FY 13/14 - 7.5m Total: 6.5m
FY 14/15 - 14.8m Total: 22.3m
FY 15/16 - 17.7m Total: 40m
FY 16/17 - 20m Total: 60m
FY 17/18 - 18m (FORECAST) Total: 78m
and if PS5 launches 2020......
FY 18/19 - 15m (prediction) Total: 93m
FY 19/20 - 13m (prediction) Total: 106m
FY 20/21 - 9m (prediction) Total: 115m
(PS5 launches nov 2020, towards end of this fiscal year.)
Add on a couple more years following and it's 122m+ at least. The ps5 would have to launch before Nov 2019 to have ANY chance of the ps4 not outselling the Wii.
If you want to say "no" then post your predicted shipments for each year, otherwise you're just spouting negative BS because of your bias, which your comment about "selling for years to claim they sell well" just reaks of. Ridiculous bitterness and bias. Put out hard figures we can ridicule instead.

Sony forecast 78m shipped by March 2018, so not long at all.

I dont expect massive growth this year.
Last year total console sales (not shipped) was around 17.6m right? with something like 20m+ shipped.
So lets assume it does 5-10% more this year only.
That ll still put it in the 18m-19m+ range (sold through).
A few years like that, and it ll be over 100m.
Even if next year 2018, sales slow down from 18m of 2017, to say.... 15m... that ll put it pretty damn close.
By 2019 march, it should be around 92-94m or so (shipped).
End of holidays 2019, it should be over 100m.

Yup, but even if after this year shipments drop a massive 30% every year they would STILL outsell the Wii. People need to think numerically and not with their biased feelings.
April 2017 to March 2018 - 18m shipped (78m total)
April 2018 to March 2019 - (-30%) 12.6m shipped (90.6m total)
April 2019 to March 2020 - (-30%) 8.8m Shipped (99.4m total)
April 2020 to March 2021 - (-70%) 2.64m shipped (102.04 total)
Even if it dropped like a rock it would STILL outsell the Wii.
The only acceptable argument against PS4 outselling Wii is the PS5 launching earlier than holiday 2019.
Anything else is just wishful thinking and/or desperation. If someone wants to say it'll never happen then they should post there predicted shipment figures for the coming years, because they would look ludicrous.
If anyone wants to put their money where their mouth is and make a bet I'm in. Ps4 will outsell Wii lifetime.

2019 which I see flying around, is way too soon. It won't sell 42m in just 2 years, not by a long shot. It'll take 3, maybe even 4 years for it to match Wii. And with that amount of time, who knows what'll happen. It's on the cards, but this is not a done deal yet.

I can see end of 2019 reaching it. It's 2 and a half years, not 2, and it's 3 holiday seasons. They expect to ship 78m by March 2018, that gives them another 21 months still to ship 22m for a total of 100m by the end of December 2019.

I don't view what I put as an attack on the user, but as an attack on his post. But yes it was worded more aggressively then it should have been, apologies to Azzanation.
