i think that will be a open world rpg spin off for ps4/x1 and pc like monster hunter stories, a game like the witcher 3/dragons dogma with focus on history and next gen graphics To appeal the franchise for the west, so if that happen probably Monster Hunter 5 will be a Switch exclusive like their predecessors.

The whole debunked rumors where about monster hunter 5, and monster hunters set in modern Tokyo xd.

The real rumors are a more open world story driven monster hunter.. Hence the word "world"
