Welp, their E3 is gonna be all about specs and 4K isn't it. Expecting very few exclusive game announcements, if at all, and more talk about performance profiles and teraflopzzz.
But is this a real teaser? Because OP's video is not from the official Xbox channel
bonzobanana said: ps4 pro is a nice interim model with a low cost approach to a performance upgrade and I suspect it will become the standard ps4 at some point offering better support for 4k tv's in the next few years. The older ps4 will stop being manufactured in a year or so. It just makes sense to make the ps4 pro the standard model when the ps5 becomes Sony's premium model. Anyone with an older ps4 will still get full support albeit at a lower resolution and frame rate. The pro just looks a product designed with that in mind because its not a huge upgrade more an enhancement. |
This is never gonna happen. The selling point of the PS5 is that it will be a new gen with new games. There will be cross gen multigames like always but the exclusives will be made with new hardware in mind only.
The older PS4 wil be under $199 for the people looking to buy a cheap console, the Pro won't supersede it unless they get to a stage where sub $199 pricepoint is profitable for them.
Sony's plans are different, unlike MS which sounds like they're making an iterative platform. Downside to that is they're shackled by 2013 hardware until they announce a cut off point where they decide to make Scorpio only games, and by then it will be lower spec to PS5.
