I'm just glad Microsoft never bought an exclusive sequel for a franchise i actually cared about.

Funny, I stated that I have a PC and I just bought a PS4 Slim thank to the exclusives and the price.

Sony has not always marketed their console as the strongest in terms of hardware. The PS1 was weaker and inferior in some ways to the N64 and both the Gamecube and original xbox were both stronger than the PS2. You are also missing the context of Sony's hardware superiority concerning the PS4. When PS4 released alongside the XBOX 1, on top of being superior in terms of technical specs it was ALSO $100 cheaper, had better and more exclusives and was shown as the place for indie developers to be and flourish, then add to that the way Microsoft handled the XBOX 1 launch by originally restricting trading and not allowing you to re-sell your games and there you have it. 

So Sony did not only win off of power, i mean sure, lets say that was the only reason most people bought one over the xbox then it would stand to reason that as soon as the XBOX becomes the most powerful machine, we should all migrate to it. But as i just pointed out, Sony touting its superior hardware was merely a variable in a much larger reason as to why Sony is where its at currently in terms of PS4 bs XBOX 1 sales.

As for exclusives, yes Microsoft has them but it is generally understood or felt that the Sony exclusives are in fact better. The aggregate score of Sony's top 10 exlusives is quite higher then Microsofts not to mention the sheer volume of exclusives Sony has. In fact, for every Xbox 1 exclusive you name ill name 2 PS4 exclusives.

Im merely saying all this to show that PS4 didnt really win the console war cause of power and that yes, everyone has exclusives but there should be something said about the quantity and quality of one consoles over the other and this gen it happens to be Sony while last gen it was most def xbox 360.

Yes, and i'm not talking abouth the PS1 or PS2 era, i'm talking comunity here on vgc, since the "POWER OF THE CELL" and the "8GB GDDR5 Ram" that's what i'm pointing here, sony's marketing since PS3 has been all about been more powerfull than the competition, get a look at the 2013-14-15-16 sony fan base posts here on vgc, denied it is hypocrisy simple as that.

I got you bro. Well i do think it pretty juvenile if kids here only bragged about power and claimed that its why "PS4 is awesome and XBOX sucks". Thats a relatively weak argument considering p.c crushes them both by a Texas mile. 

So what im trying to point out is that yes, PS4 was in fact the superior hardware compared to XBOX 1 but that is not the principle factor as to why Sony dominated this gen. Its for a bunch of different reasons with power being the icing on the cake for us Sony enthusiasts. You see, last gen i knew the PS3 was more powerful and since i like Sony overall that made me happy, yet it was a small factor as to why i chose 1 console over the other (spoiler alert, i chose xbox 360). When it came down to it, microsoft had the vastly superior xbox live as well as continuously better indie games. But the biggest factor was their exclusives at the time, Xbox 360 had Mass Effect, Bioshock, Gears and Forza and frankly, those games kicked any of Sony's exclusives asses. So when people say "oh my console is better cause of power" while true that it may be more powerful, its also very shortsighted considering they are not taken into account any other larger factors at play.

I pretty much agree with him. PS4 and Switch are both doing extremely well at the same time, even 3ds is doing well still..and they don't really seem to compete too much with each other 

My house hold and my brothers house hold are pretty much Nintendo/Sony as well. Sony for the home side and Nintendo for the portable side (even the Wii U is semi portable). They compliment each other pretty well. 

Hey man if you got more power it's more than your right to brag about it. But at the end of the day the playstation brand is a stronger brand and will probably always sell more. 

Xbox doesn't have exclusives, they're sharing the same library now.

PS4 gets you AAA multiplats and lots of exclusives. You would've already missed out on many big hitters this year alone without a PS4, can't really say the same on the other side. I'd always reccomend a PS4 +NS combo and if it can be afforded a PC included in that for PC exclusive games (if they're important to the person).
