Forums - Nintendo - NBA Playgrounds update on Switch will cut file size in half, increase resolution, more

Saber Interactive is still working towards NBA Playgrounds’ first big Switch update. Although it’s taking awhile, it might be worth the wait in the end.

Saber CEO Matt Karch has been interacting with fans on Facebook, and offered additional details about what the first update for NBA Playgrounds on Switch will entail. Two big things confirmed is a reduction in file size as well as an increase of resolution. Of course, online play is also coming.

Karch’s full comments on the update:

Due to the long wait for NBA Playgrounds’ first update on Switch, Saber announced a special promotion a few days ago. Those who buy the game before the patch releases will be entitled to a free copy of Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn when it launches this fall.

Probably one of the best devs I've ever seen. Constantly talking to people on Facebook and listening to feedback. Props to Saber

Figured as much. The Shaq Fu release was a genuine apology for something they were struggling with. Its a small team of enthusiastic developers. I have been seeing them respond to different fans a reviewers everywhere. One of their favorite reviews was actually very critical of them.

Damn. Now I'm going to have to buy this game.

Nice.

Wow. That's quite the update.

That's awesome. I've been vocal about my disappointment with NBA Playgrounds (day one purchase) and this should fix many of my complaints.

Just bought the game for Switch. I won't touch it till the update though

I was going to ask you what you meant by this, because the wording is confusing. Must say that it's pretty sweet that Switch owners are getting Shaq Fu 2 for free.

I hope you are trolling, otherwise you are delusional.

This developer published their game in an insufficient state, so describing them as one of the best developers isn't appropriate at all.

How is it trolling/being delusional?

By best devs, I should have explained myself. In terms of actual game production, they're far from the best. However, their actual team is great.  They're constantly talking with fans and are improving a flawed game. Not every dev has the balls to fix a product with these types of issues.
