Oh, so you moved away from Sony during an unprecedented  and unreplicated period of prosperity for a gaming platform.

I've always thought Playstation 2 is a massively overrated console, with a massively overrated library. Honestly, Playstation 1, 3 and 4 are vastly superior consoles to it.

But what do the PS1, PS3 and PS4 have that the PS2 doesn't?

I bet you people kiss your consoles in bed when no one's looking.

*hides PS4 in bed*

Also nothing you people say will change my mind anout Futaba. >:c

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Better libraries and good hardware in comparison to its main competitors, even though PS3 suffers from the incredibly narcissist philosophy of "let's make our hardware so freaking alien and developer-hostile as possible so that people won't ever dare to port games outside it" that predated PS2.

Well, good library is not really that specific of an argument, and the PS1 was technologically inferior to the N64. I know you may say that the N64 came out a year and a half afterwards, so of course it would be weaker, but the thing is it's same same situation with the PS2 and the XB/GC.

Any examples of better games? I don't don't they exist, but you implied better library twice now with no actual comparisons.

For the record, I feel like the PS1 library sucked compared to the PS2, and the PS3 library only tops the PS2's because it also includes nearly all of the PS2's best games n remastered format. My initial pay came from the objective standpoint of PlayStation having one of the largest collections if exclusive titles and highest selling console in history.

I think the only reason people like Melee over Brawl is cause they couldn't master Brawl's intricate and masterful tripping mechanic

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Brawl is the best Smash Bros game imo.

Better library+hardware combo is what I meant. N64 was superior to the PS1, but wasn't PS1 superior to the Jaguar and the Saturn? And besides, I think N64 is extremely overrated too, under a similar (not the same) principle.

As for the libraries, this is of course subjective, so we're bound to disagree even if we start listing games over and over. But for me, PS1, has all the superior Final Fantasy games, more endearing RPGs too as far as the ones I played on both, better strategy games in the form of more Final Fantasy (Tactics) or Vandal Hearts, superior Resident Evil games (not so much Silent Hill and Metal Gear, PS2 definitively wins), Crash Bandicoot and Spyro (which I'd take over Jak and Ratchet any day), superior Tomb Raiders, and horror gems like Parasite Eve, Fear Effect and Dino Crisis. Plus there was these cool Time Crisis games that you had the plastic gun attached to the PS1 (not sure if PS2 ever had it), or Chrono Trigger/Cross, Symphony of the Night...

All I can ever think of PS2 are franchises I don't really enjoy, like Kingdom Hearts or God of War, worse entries on certain franchises, like Resident Evil (that were already on other consoles), or games that debuted there but had superior (or worse, but eventually left their exclusive status) ports somewhere else (like Max Payne, Prince of Persia or the GTA games). I'm not saying the library was bad, but it's vastly overestimated. It still had some gems that I love, like Ico, Haunting Grounds or the Katamari games. PS3 also has the benefit of receiving some of PS2's finest in the form of remasters, which also contributes to its already great (and better) library over the Ps2.

That's how I see it anyway.

I see Pyro as Bill posted in this thread, which means it's open season on vgchartz worst user. He's cut down on the trolling to avoid getting banned Everytime he posts, because wants the point of being a troll if you're banned too much to trigger people.

P.S This thread is still an awful idea.

Whoa there. I thought the unwritten rule was that we don't call each other out? I've lost a little bit of respect for you now tbh. Are you still salty about Splatoon overtaking Halo or is it because your 35m Switch "prediction"/stealth trolling is falling to pieces? (i don't think you're dumb enough to actually believe 35m)

Oh and btw, those "decades old games" are called classics. Sony/MS haven't made anything that is or will become a classic so I can see why they might confuse you. Think of them like Beethoven or the Beatles compared to the Bieber/1Direction monthly trash you get on the PC-wannabes.

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

I really despise when people put Smash characters on a pedestal when comparing them against Sony characters and their stubbornness when it comes to admitting their beloved characters can't lose against them. "Oooh, they have more powers." "Kirby can suck anything so he's better than everything that ever existed." "Samus can go faster than the speed of light, she can detect everything with her helmet, she knows every weakness on everything that exists. She's the most OP character in the existence of humanity. Let's just pretend Other M didn't happen." "Shulk has the Monado, and that's the most OP thing after Samus. It can destroy an universe, all Sony characters and Shulk himself, rendering this battle useless."
