Cool video. Kinda restates some stuff I've said before, but a "Switch+" model is basically possible already.

A New 3DS/DSi/PS4 Pro type revision of the Switch using a newer Tegra chip is pretty much a given.
If I had to guess I'd say 2019 launch, higher performance and improved battery life.
This constant need for more power is pathetic, people doesn't want that, Switch sales will prove it. Things like flexibility and great games will be more important for a large number of players, internet nerds are full of tech enthusiast that care way more about the tech than about the art of gaming, giving the false impression that power is the most important aspect for a console to suceed but normal people doesn't give 2 shits about the tech as long as it looks good and is fun to play.

Don't scare me curl, I don't want the Switch that I'm looking to buy to become outraged 2 years from now!

Not going to lie, the Switch is probably going to do that every coupe of years. Basically adopt a more phone like release schedule. (not as frequent). |
I hope that's not the case.

Likewise, but I think the general consumer base wont care too much (I think). Personally I am ok with a mid gen bump, more consistent revisions are not really my thing either but we will see what Nintendo decides to do |
I just don't want to have to buy another Switch to play games that can't play on the original models.

If they do something like this, a solution would be to do refreshes every three years but require that all games be compatible for the current Switch gen and the gen that came before it, ensuring that all Switch owners get six years of guaranteed software support. One big problem with this would be how to show game compatibility between generations without it being confusing.
Yea I saw this and in a "new Switch" sorta deal, Pascal makes sense with Max-Q
I think Nvidia still hasn't made the Switch's successor though cause the one DF said is more so related to cars and Ai than gaming.

Did you/do you own a DS, 3DS, Gameboy, PS4, or Xbox One? Did it bother you when those systems got revisions? I wouldn't worry about it frankly, its not like your original Switch will stop getting games, just like those systems didn't.
