After reading all of this garbage. I'm with starcraft on this one. 360 always had the upper hand in the ram department. Plus the Os for the 360 is better.

360 will always have the upper hand with ram because it's unified, simple as. microsoft were very clever when designing the dashboard. if you look closely, the blades are not hi-res, unlike the xmb, where every corner is flawless. the xmb's attention to detail is what takes up so much ram, the dashboard isn't as detailed, which i think is what matters when taking into consideration that the os will be running in the background.
having said that though, i prefer the xmb, because everything is so much easier to access, and it's so much faster than the dashboard. also you can completely customize the xmb to your taste, you can even make your own themes. the xmb just feels more like a system to me, the dashboard feels like a flash site to me.

umm... the background of the XMB is a .tiff image.... thats not "highly detailed" at all.

In exactly the same way that their development tools are better than Sony's (as they're built on Visual Studio which is perhaps the best existing development environment)... I could point you to several quotes from famous game developers who support this (for example, I remember John Carmack does, and he's not one to kiss MS's ass; he used to be a strong critic of MS's DirectX).
This doesn't surprise anyone except for the most rabid anti-MS people... Microsoft has great software engineers, and some of them were obviously working on 360's OS and development tools. The same way that it doesn't surprise any reasonable person that Sony has some of the best hardware engineers!
Both Microsoft and Sony have their strengths and weaknesses, and this is very much reflected on their consoles.

i beg you please, to show me where i mentioned the xmb background. i was talking about the xmb; the xross media bar itself. it's at a higher detail than the dashboard blades.
YAY!! Finally In-Game XMB! Wait?!? Not YET?!?! *sniff*
