I was under the impression I covered your mistakes and your relevant points in my response to the real mafoo, but I'll reiterate them quickly:

- I agree that 10MB is not sufficient for what Microsoft intended (free AA in high-definition games), nonetheless, saying it's not an advantage is the same as saying the PS3 would not be improved if it had this asset, which is incorrect.

- Like I said to Mafoo, putting irrational hate aside, Microsoft knows OS's better than anyone, and their goals with the 360 OS are completely different to their goals with windows Vista.  Methinks that your passion for PC gaming and the understandable contempt you therefore hold for Windows Vista are clouding your judgement on this issue. 

See this is the thing I stated that it makes a difference, a subtle one but a difference none-the-less.

Also you saying Microsoft knowing OSs better then anyone is complete BS as Apple and IBM knows OSs way better then Microsoft as they have being in the computer business longer.  IBM also owns every patent that an OS needs to run so basically if M$ screws up its screwed.  You hold Microsoft above developers and companies that make OSs that outperform Windows.

that does not mean they cannot hire programmers that can.  Like I said Fedora a FREE OSs is better then all M$ OSs.  Ubuntu, Yellow Dog Linux, Red Hat, etc etc. Most Linux Distros work better and most of them are free.  The XMB has been around since the launch of the PSP meaning Sony has had time to prefect their gaming OS.  Sony definitely has proven that as long as you have the programmers you can have a great OS and software,

Sony has great programmers, this is why in other industry like the music industry one of the best audio mixing programs is Sony Acid. Its all about the programmers. You have the programmers that is capable of great things you end up with a great thing.  

This is Microsoft's failure.  Their programmers suck.  This is why Vista SP1 drags down the performance of the OS.

Now, I'm scratching my head wondering how this thread turned into flame.

 I never said that all their software is complete trash. the office suite is good... err.. windows media player is decent. Your argument was basically that Microsoft can't do no wrong when it comes to software. I proved out you wrong.

sadly, I programmed my own word processor before and there are other media palyers that support more.  Like i said its about what programmers you have on hand.  For the major software M$ sucks, plain and simple.  This is why it took 3 service packs to make XP or what XP really stands for Xtreme Performance what they originally promised.

But your completely missing what we are discussing.  We are not talking about media players, we are not talking about windows, we are not talking about word processors.

What we are talking about is the OS's of the PS3 and the 360.  As you pointed out, Sony can hire programmers, MS has even more money to hire exactly the same people.  For you to make a blanked statement to the effect of "MS developers suck" is complete crap.  They are highly capable, what limits them is the corporate nature of Microsoft.

At the end of the day, Microsoft has far more in-house software development resources and know-how than Sony does.
