No, you don't have to buy characters in Street Fighter 5.  They gave you enough fight money at the beginning to "just" buy characters (Extra stages and colours on the other hand).  They also made it pretty damn easy to perpetually earn fight money for characters and maybe stages now if you're diligent.

Well if you preorder any version of the game you get Darkseid playable character.

And if you get the Ultimate Collectors Edition you get an additional 9 (That's right, NINE) DLC fighters. That's a huge roster chunk I'd say.

So technically yes they're somewhat charging for DLC characters right off the bat. And i'm sure those 9 DLC characters will come later with a price for those that buy the normal edition.

Glad to see it score high. I loved the first Injustice, the story mode was extremely enjoyable, and certain challenges too. Hope they fixed Aquaman this time because that dude was broken as fuck, though. xD

I'm sure they will.  I'm even sure that there'll be more DLC characters to come too.
