They'll wait until much closer to the release of the Scorpio to make any price cuts, if any.

I just don't see it doing well unless it's cheaper. Unless they're content with its current performance, they'll have to drop the price or else it'll be overshadowed by the vanilla PS4 and the Scorpio.

The more XB pushes Scorpio, the more PS will continue to remind people of Pro. I see PS putting a lot of emphasis on the games that are running native 4k on Pro at E3, to try and get a more clear message out, that Scorpio isn't the only "true 4k" console, but just another console that plays 4k with a few more bells and whistles.
The truth for PS anyway, is that Pro is an extra. PS isn't looking to sell big numbers, just make some extra coin and keep the tech heads happy. They don't necessarily need to sell a tonne of Pro's to get the devs to focus more on 4k. The addition of Scorpio itself will help to push the devs to care and focus more on 4k gaming all around, but 1080p will retain the majority of focus regardless this gen.
Pro in it's present configuration, will stay $50 - $100 cheaper than Scorpio. If Scorpio launches at $499, Pro will most likely stay at $399. A $449 Scorpio could mean a $399 or $349 Pro. A $399 Scorpio could mean a $349, or $329 Pro. I don't see Pro hitting $299 this holiday, that would be insane. If PS4 can outsell XB1S 2:1 at a similar retail price, and without a 4k BD drive, etc, than Pro should only need about a $50 gap to stay competitive with Scorpio.
PS1 - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.
PS2 - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.
PS3 - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.
PS4 - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.
PRO -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.
PS5 - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.
PRO -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
