Forums - Sony - Is Sony the perfect first party publisher for Spiderman with Insomniac?

Probably, especially since they were likely the only option. They still own the rights to the Spiderman-movies, and I wouldn't be surprised if one of the conditions for them allowing the character to get into the Marvel Cinematic Universe was an exclusive rights for the character in video games for a certain period of time at least.

Only option? Acivision has had the reigns of Spiderman for the longest. Its been a failure for god knows how long because they rush licensed games. They made the choice this time and they actually develop games.

Um....the Ratchet and Clank Remake and Sunset Overdrive. have you played either? Its a damn shame the Xbox fans have not supported Sunset Overdrive either, because its the best new IP the Xbox One has seen this gen (in terms of overall quality and polish). Proof is in the sales, and now Phil Spencer is looking elsewhere because of it. I mean, he will look for some single player experiences, but not as much as before now.

I disagree, but are you like R&C remake or sunset as much or more than Going Comando or Up Your Arsenal? Just curious.

I didnt play those games. At that time I was younger and only played fighters and PC games (Tekken, Street fighter, battlefield, Counterstrike, C&C Renegades. Etc). but I am speaking on the overall quality of those games on the Xbox One and the PS4. Sunset Overdrive to me was the best new IP on the Xbox One. Highly underrated. I've actually made posts about how underrated it was and many agreed here.

Only option, as in they've likely secured exclusive rights to the character in video games for now.

Gotcha. Im sure Activision wasnt making disney happy. I was pissed the day they stripped the rights to play MVC3 from gamers once Capcom and Activision lost rights. Im sure they saw how good DC was doing and now are choosing wisely who they work with. Sony and Marvel have worked well together with the Superman character being in the avengers.
