meanwhile i am (atleast for the moment) avoiding any areas with guardians..I see one and i just turn around and go somewhere else

I just got to the point where I don't avoid them any longer. Now I need to get over my fear of Lynels. I've only really fought one and barely beat it.

If you get the timing down for dodging their attacks you can come away from a Lynel without suffering a single heart of damage, just if

it's dashing forwards using it's body to attack you do a side leap,

if it's running at you with the weapon drawn to swing you do a backflip,

if it's charging fireballs just release targetting from it and walk left or right, will be faster than hopping to avoid them

If you see it spiralling up and shouting just turn tail and run away from it

All of the above can be ignored if you shoot it in the face at every point of the fight, then run at him while he is stuned and mash A to mount and whip that bastard.

Go with 3x Attack power food to make it nice and fast :) Stack attack + buff items and don't just add random meats to fill the dish, all strenght items and you'll be wearing Lynel weapons in no time, once you have some of those, each next guy is easier to kill.

Don't forget too, if you want to get Ancient weapons that the shrines with Major / Modest / Minor tests of combat all respawn after each blood moon, so go stock up on those if you're short.

Yeah I basically got the attack style down at the end of the one Lynel fight I have done. However, I'll have to remember the blood moon idea to go get more ancient weapons.

Even when you complete the game its still things to do I LOVE IT

Dont forget to use the "stop time"(the uppgraded one) abillity on Lynels. soo useful... almost like cheating :)

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

So, you push an enemy in the water and dies. Groundbreaking i guess...

I think it's cool to see that people are still discovering things in this game. Why crap all over it?

It is a little bit amusing, though, isn't it?  Look at it from the perspective so someone who has played other games where enemies can drown.  They see some of the reactions to this where it's kind of like--

And so they're like--

Reminds me of that feeling I had when I first showed my younger cousin a Fatality in Mortal Kombat.

Once you have Urbosa's fury and ancient arrows, lynels and guardians respectively are easy to manage.

Feel free to check out my stream on twitch

In Thief I and II, if you dropped a knocked out enemy (or any knocked out innocent civilian too) in the water, after a while they drowned, but if you took them out in time, you could save them (in Thief III, due to the port to XB, that having less RAM than Thief II era average gaming PCs forced to remove features, touching deep water meant instadeath, the ability to swim was removed altogether and you drowned even if conscious). So not a novelty, but from what I read BotW deserves to be praised anyway because it offers not just this, but a huge variety of things that give you a large degree of freedom and allows creative gameplay.
