The game may arrive on PS5, don't know about this, if It's released within this generation it can be ported to switch, can doesn't mean it will, I really doubt it

if this rumor comes true, it won't even be a great thing, it'll be bad for all of us.. scale down/dumbdown whatever..

Just get yourself a damn PS4 or a PC with enough muscle to play it on, and you'll never have to worry and hope for some rumor to come true ever again.

Switch carts probably use compression. I thought it was being released in episodes as well.

Eitherway Switch would be a good fit for anything Final Fantasy given Japan.

Blurays also use compression, in fact many games are beyond 50GB now. I dont think they have much room on the Switch due to the limited on-board storage.

These episodes are gonna be more like full games on themselves. Japan is not a big country for FF anymore, barely 1/6th of XV's sales came from Japan. We'll see though how they translate DQXI to the system, it's also UE4.

The size of games isn't finite, especially when they're porting a game to a technically inferior device. For example, games like CoD:AW, MGSV, and Wolfenstein are significantly smaller on 360.

FFXV is the best selling PS4 game in Japan. So it still matters over there and Switch will do well in Japan.

So you think having a mainline Final Fantasy game on Nintendo platforms is bad?

I think scaling it down is bad. graphically their experience wont be the same compared to users on PS4 and PC.

Scaling it down doesn't have to be done by Square themselves. If its possible, let another dev they trust to port it to Switch. It shouldn't have to affect the PS4/PC version. Plus, playing FFVIIR on the go can be an enticing feature that we may have never thought would be possible. Sure, you could play the original on the Vita, but the ability to take it on the go or play it on the big screen as a modern game can be cool.

I edit my last post to convey this.

I'm actually thinking about the Switch players here; graphically and performance wise, their experience wont be the same compared to users on PS4 and PC. What sacrifices would they have to make on the UI? And, they'll have to make it playable docked, and undocked. I just don't see this happening.

Actually the size of games is finite. If the size of games were infinite, they wouldn't fit on any medium.

Zzzzzzz

If you want muscle get a PC, not an outdated console.
