Some games in 1-2 Switch make very good use of HD rumble like Soda shaking, cow milking, safe cracker and marble guessing. Especially marble guessing, I am an expert here. These games wouldn't be half as good without HD rumble or even possible. I'm eager to find out how developers will use it in future games.

Maybe I judged the marble guessing too early, but wasn't floored by my initial impression. I agree with the first two though, like I mention in the OP the soda bubbles are in there somehow.

Yes, the soda bubbles are amazing! It's one of our favorite games.

Most reviewers were actually quite convinced by the HD rumble implemented in Mario Kart, apparently immitates ground textures.

In Fast RMX it's pretty good feeling down to which side front or back you're scraping off the edge, it adds little to the game in usefulness but at the same time, it's nice that it's there.

3 more days to MK8.... My Switch is ready.

Fancy hearing me on an amateur podcast with friends gushing over one of my favourite games? https://youtu.be/1I7JfMMxhf8

It's pretty meh. I played 1-2 Switch a few times, wasn't very impressed. Sure it can start/stop and pulse very precisely yet it still feels like rumble.

I remember reading about that you would be able to feel the ground. Did a quick search before and nothing came up.

Pretty sure about that, actually. THis guy mentions it, under other: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onu7OKOY83E

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

Definitely want to try this out for myself, but probably won't be anything too special :p

It's not something I saw highlighted in the reviews,
but HD rumble is mentioned as subtle here: http://www.vooks.net/mario-kart-8-deluxe-switch-review/

HD Rumble is implemented subtly as well, rather than just a large rumble on everything, the HD Rumble will create a different feeling on different surfaces, and there’s also haptic feedback on item pickups and other small places.

HD rumble will be like the Wii speaker.

Hahaha. I remember the Wii Speaker. I bought one due to being a collector. I never actually ended up using the thing though.

Hopefully, HD Rumble will feature better support. You don't need an extra peripheral, so I don't see why they wouldn't implement it within future titles.

I think he means the Wii remote speaker, not Wii Speak.

Oh right. My bad haha. Neither were really implemented to be fair.

Never understand why people think this technology is expensive. The real costs in the Switch are the screen, memory chips and the main nvidia chipset not minor circuit board components. Why would they think the material cost or manufacture of these would be expensive? This is not why the Switch is expensive and is only a small feature. It doesn't matter if it's used or not you aren't paying a premium because of these low cost minor components. If anything these are lower cost than the large rumble motors that some other controllers use that are based on rotating heavier weights and have the cost of the motor itself. It may actually be a cost saving over those.

The Joy Con and Pro controllers are $80 and $70 respectively, so that's probably why. :L
