1. Wii - 14,519,705
2. Switch - 14,455,009 (As of February 3rd)
3. 3DS - 14,361,871
4. PS4 - 14,238,195
5. DS - 9,290,236

4 weeks to go! Switch should top out around 15.3 million.

Wait 3DS did better than the PS4 ?

I'll wait for official numbers from Nintendo since all their claims are always so vague it's hard to keep track, but if VgChartz isn't overtracking too much, Switch will comfortably beat the previous record.

Well the 3DS did launch in March resulting in 2 peak periods of sales and at a cheaper price too.

Why hasn't the Playstation Vita sold more than the PS4 in its first year then?

Why do most consoles launch during holidays if it's that good of a difference to launch in spring ?

Y'all with your excuses.

Simply because, like the WiiU, the Vita is a complete failure. It also had a staggered launch, came in a year later than it’s immediate competitor, had a poor library, was close to 50% more expensive than its direct competitor, expensive proprietary memory cards. Just a poor comparison.

I’m sure you realise how a March release benefits a system, right? If not, let me know and I’ll explain.

Well, Breath of the Wild is probably the greatest game you can get right now... it's no mystery.
