Windows sucks. Not only does W10 still need a reboot after every friggin' update it installs, it also wants to install software all the time that I don't want and don't need. I really really miss apt-get on Windows. One command and you update all of your software while on Windows every fuckin' software has its own "auto-updater" or some shit that is constantly running in the background and eating up your resources. Last but not least, Windows 10 spies the shit out of the user. What was a trojan horse back in the day is now an official feature of Windows. Hooray, I guess.

Mac OS is quite alright, but just not at the same level as Linux.

I don't normally have a favorite OS. I just use the best OS for my Systems game performance. Windows 10 for better optimization than Windows 8.1 and with DX12 exclusive only on it. Windows 10 is a no brainer for the hardcore PC gaming rigs.

And it's Free.. enough said.

Fedora Linux. I find most linux distros to be the surperior OS choice. If MS didn't have the games, Windows wouldn't exist anymore.

Windows 10 is great, going back to Windows 7 briefly after taking the plunge and using 10 is awful.

Windows 7 still the best to date, too many performance issues with 8 and especially 8.1 and I never even saw a reason to upgrade to Win 10, plus there have been some driver issues with my GPU in Win 10.

XP in its time was the pinnacle of OS'. Usability was fantastic, Microsoft really shot themselves in the foot with XP as there was little need to move on.

Obviously it's well outlived it's usefulness after support finally dwindled, and Win7 is a sufficient modern substitute. Keep in mind that Microsoft will never make that mistake again, their job is to provide an OS that is just good enough to be better than the last, but not enough to ever fully cater to your needs.

While we're at it, Office 2003 was the last usable version. The ribbon is utter bullshit.

Windows 7 is no longer "modern".

It was released in 2009, 7 years ago, it's older than the Wii U.
It is no longer getting any big updates from Microsoft. Doesn't have Direct X 12 either.

Definitely, yeah. It might 'just' be my digital car, but it'd be silly not to lock the doors.

XP was released in 2001 and was supported until 2014. Windows 7 is modern by the gold standard set by XP.
