Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Switch Available At GameStop, But In A $500 Bundle

This really isn't that bad of a bundle. I don't know why anyone would complain. It has the two obviously hottest games and an accessory that most would want, even if it is about $20 over what you could get on Amazon for that SD card.

If I had not bought one already and was willing to wait a couple more weeks for a guaranteed delivery, I would get this bundle.

Preying on weak and desperate people is not ethical in my opinion.

It's only online, right?

Also, just checked in Amazon and the "real" price for everything it's about 460 dollars. It's not tempting at all.

Check your math.  $300 Switch + 2x $60 games + $20 expansion pass + $45 (minimum) SD card = 485.  And I've seen some variance up and down on that exact SD card.  It's not a dead on price but it is pretty close.

Oh, I forgot to include the Expansion Pass.

Well, if I could find this bundle at the store I'd consider its purchase, but I'd change Mario Kart 8 for the Pro Controller.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

How is it preying on anyone? This is a realistic bundle a large number of people would buy anyways. I'm confident that people buying this already want these games and an SD card.

People are desperate, they know that, so they don't just sell the console but tack on shit people may not want as a way to take advantage of those people. It's like selling cups of water in the desert with a four course meal simply because you can. It's bullshit.

It could be worse but at the same time I'm sure there are better options elsewhere

to be fair... if you're buying a switch you're most likely going to want to buy both those games and the nice sized SD card.

On the flip side of it... both games are physical copies which obviously you will only be able to use one of them in the cart slot of the switch, it would be better for the customer if it was a digital download code of one of the games so you could have it to download onto that nice sized SD card and have both titles on the switch without having to handle those awful tasting carts!

Not sure if serious... xD

I would actually be very miffed if it were digital codes.  Switch has 32 gigs of space, much prefer to reserve all of that for indie games and digital only big releases.

This bundle comes with a 128gb Micro SD card and 2 games which will leave it empty but mean you have to find a means to bring 2 game carts with you and change them back and forth.

I would much rather have both games in the system rather than doing that and having a total of 156GB space empty.

"One of these treasure chests will contain a shirt with a Nintendo Switch logo that Link can wear during his adventure, exclusive to the Expansion Pass," Nintendo said.

If that's true then they could easily charge $600.

Well if you are referring to portability, you are going to want a case for the Switch anyway since it needs a means to protect the screen.  As such, just get this case here:  https://www.amazon.com/Industries-Nintendo-Switch-Traveler-Deluxe-Travel/dp/B01MY9JB2U

Stores the Switch and provides two hard plastic cases that can hold 4 games a piece and are stored securely under the Switch when the case is closed.  And boom, you can take 8 games with you physically and reserve your 156GB for digital only releases, DLC, etc.
