If the market wants it then yes. I can see the Switch going through upgrades similar to PS4 Pro and Scorpio with the oldest models being phased out overtime, while keeping full BC for the newer more powerful models.

They can stick to it for two to three more gens if it keeps working. And in five years Nintendo will have a more powerful switch than PS4 and then some. They can perhaps even get closer to the pa4 pro then the ps4. At that point add a 1080p screen instead of 720p and sometimes 4k gaming an they are golden. VR can come and new concepts can also be used. If they are able to somehow make 4k docked with an SCU or something that would be great just to keep closer to the graphical powers of the twins but it won't benefit me since I will be a student doing masters probably so I could never afford 4k anyways

Personally, I would say Yes! I am going to love the heck out of this system when many Nintendo franchises starts appearing!

If it's successful (it is so far, but we need to see how momentum carries) then of course they will stick with it moving forward. I'm not sure about forever, but certainly multiple generations.

I dunno if they can stick with the Switch concept forever. They can do a Switch 2 after the 1st has run its course. After that, they may be due to try a new idea again. Who knows.

Hybrid console + gimmick controller is perfect for Nintendo.

forever is a long time so who knows but going forward Nintendo needs to keep a fully unified software platform. that doesnt necessarily mean a single hybrid device, it could mean multiple seperate devices but they all need to be compatible with the same software library.

Nintendo products usually sell best when they are blue ocean. Red ocean often much less successful for Nintendo.

Wii and Wii U concepts are totally different.
