Forums - Gaming - My E3 2017 Predictions: Part 2: Bethesda

The second part of this six-part series is here. Bethesda looks to be harder to predict than EA, but still looks quite easy if you ask me.

I've always loved Bethesda's press conferences for being tight and cutting out the bullshit, and I don't think this year's will be anything too different.

So, let's get started.

The conference opens with a gameplay trailer for a brand-new game, The evil within 2. I'ts been quite some time since Tango has come out with a game.     No release date is shown, the game will be scheduled for merely "2018". The game will probably end up coming out next May.

Plans for DLC or Expansions for Prey are revealed, including a single player story-driven expansion, coming in the Summer.

More updates and expansions for the Elder Scrolls Online and Legends (they have done this two years in a row now, so I expect this to happen again).

Fallout 4 VR gets a live on-stage demo by Todd Howard himself. We will get a release date of around the month of October.

A few more trailers and character reveals for Quake Champions along with a release date which is also around October.

The show ends with the biggest segment, Wolenstein: The New Collosus. Bethesda will pull off a Fallout 4 and the game will end releasing before the end of the year. My reason for thinking this is that Bethesda has a six-month schedule to release games, one around May and one around November. To me, Quake Champions just doesn't appear to fit that mold.

And one more thing, Elder Scrolls VI won't be present there in any shape or form. That studio was working on Fallout DLC and Skyrim remastered last year, and is also is working on Fallout 4 VR this year, so I can't imagine TESVI being shown here. It's simply too early. The most that could happen is that they show a little teaser and go quiet for several years after that, but I doubt that too.

So, lets see all of Bethesda's studios:

Arkane probably needs a break after pumping out two games simultaneously.

Bethesda Game Studios is doing Fallout 4 VR, so I expect TESVI too be some ways off.

Zenimax Online is pumping out more content for Elder Scrolls online as usual.

Machine Games last game, The New Order, came out in Spring 2014, so it is about time for them to show off their next game, which will probably be Wolfenstein: The New Collosus.

Tango Gameworks' last game, The Evil Within, also came out way back in 2014, so it is about time for a sequel.

And finally, ID software is doing Quake Champions.

So unless a surprise partnership with someone like Obsidian or something happens this E3, I expect Bethesda's E3 to go something like this, in a solid press conference like 2015 and 2016, everything nicely and tightly packed in 45 minutes.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

I really don't think Fallout 4: VR is taking up much of the studios resources at all. I would expect Elderscrolls to be there in some fashion.

Glitches.

Fallout 4 GOTY Edition hopefully, I've been waiting and waiting

as for exciting things, I really enjoyed the last Wolfenstein and think it will be there. I don't however agree that it will come out this year, more like February or March 2018. I think releasing it in the holidays against all the other shooters and bigger names would be a mistake like they did with Dishonoured 2 and EA did with Titanfall 2 last holidays

a new Evil Within or a new IP from Tango should be there

Elder Scrolls probably won't be there. I don't think Skyrim Remastered, Fallout 4 DLC and VR stuff would take as much resources as you think, and they went on a big hiring spree a while back too, so I think Elder Scrolls VI will be a fair way along. Probably not quite far enough to show off yet though, I agree

Those predictions seems pretty reasonable and quite accurate. There may be one big surprise there, but I think thats about what the conference will be about.

Now, it will be interesting to see if Bethesda will keep on supporting Switch with any of its games announced at E3.That is specially interesting, given the fact that Skyrim is comming and the Switch is doing well so far.

Now that reminds me, will they mention in any form Skyrim for Switch?Even if its just a 30 seconds reminder?Im guessing not, but who knows.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

TES really shouldn't skip a gen. They've probably got to get it out by 2019 and with this year out they should push for next holiday. Otherwise the gen will be dying not that that hurt GTA5 at all.

I am Iron Man

Any more feedback?
