I'm not sure it's for PS3. Look closely at the second controller in the second pic. The bottom triggers look like the previous Dualshock triggers and not the actual L2/R2 trigger buttons Sony provided with the Sixaxis and Dualshock 3.

Well at-least the Daulshock controller is in the ad, 120M people will recognize that :P

Eventually, Sony will make a truly good, memorable commercial that isn't a abstract art-wannabe piece of poo.

The music video is the closest they've come...

I miss the "Live in your world, play in ours" slogan. :(

I'd forgotten about that... but that was a great slogan.

Yeah...I wish they'd bring that back too. That slogan was really good. Kind of like ones own phrase. Like Wii's "Wii would like to play." :(

Sony should do more commercials like this:

This really makes me want to buy a PS3

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

I hate this crap. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GAMES! NOTHING.

What kind of overly simple person would see that and think damn, that sure is pretty. In fact, it's so pretty I'm just going to pick up a PS3! Screw seeing what games or features it has, that's some pretty artwork!"

If you want to advertise the PS3, show games, show people playing the games, and show people having fun (like some commercials I won't name).

I would agree, but I also would have to agree Sony's old slogan for PS2, "Live in your world, play in ours." Much better. It gave the feeling that the PS2 was a fun console to play. Now the PS3 ones make you question what is up with the system being all mature and 'graphic.' Those pictures don't show anything video game-related. They could be screenshots, but what game are they advertising (for the general consumer)? Is it fun and does it appeal to everyone? I don't think so. It would probably appeal to someone who has a dark and morbid mind.

And no, the giant black octopus commercials suck too. I don't even understand them. Sure they show the features and all, but they're not interesting. It just seem someone made a collage to show off the PS3 without showing any qualities of it being fun with people.

Depends on what you would call fun. If the games aren't what you think are fun, it doesn't mean it won't be fun to someone else. And it's impossible to appeal to everyone. Even with the Wii. It's just not possible to make a game fun for EVERYONE. I guarentee at least one person will dislike a game. I mean, look at all the old people that are just anti-videogame just because they're videogames. There is no universal rating system on how fun a game is since people can have different opinions. You can have reviews, but in the end it comes down to ones individual taste as to how fun the game is. It won't be fun to everyone...and even if a game seems like it would be the least fun ever (coughHanahMontanacough) there will probably be a handful of people that like it. I seriously doubt any developer(s) could make a game that appeals to EVERYBODY.

I think the best way to advertise the PS3 would be to put it in the arms of a girl in a bikini while she jumps up and down. While this is happening the words "BUY A PS3" would flash several times. No one would have a choice.

Can anyone find the 'O' on the second picture (army picture)?

The 'X' and triangle are on the flags, and the square is on the guy by the gates arm. I can't find the circle, there is a wheel to the right of the hand on the floor, do you think that is it?

On the first picture, if you follow the melted metal shoots, you will find the X, O, square, triangle. There is also a square to the left of the girl.

Look to the right of the big steel hand on that bigcart thing. It's the same color as the others and a circle...my guess was that it was supposed to be some big metal ring thing....but it's the same color as the others. Good eye though, I didn't notice the buttons around.
