The day when I trust Pachter's predictions for Europe will come much later than the day he gets his American predictions right.

My best guess is that those two days will never come. He'll probably retire before it happens.

He'll retire as an extremely rich man.  And given his prediction history, thats a bit of a disgrace.

But to by honest, I do believe that the man genuinely loves to play videogames, and respect him for that.  There are a whole lot of analysts that look like they have never picked up a controller in their lives, but I believe Pachter when he says "I liked playing this game or that game." 

I think he is a little low.

and there will be major price cuts by the holidays for the 360 and PS3.

When it comes to predicting what will happen like for example how much/when a pricecut will be hes usually pretty close. As for numbers not so much

Even he ever got one right I would not give him any credit... everyone gets lucky sometimes.

Patcher is joke, there are people on these boards who give much more accurate and well thought out prediction. But this cat gets paid a fat salary.

16 mill for PS3? Please, just shut up, Patcher. I see PS3 selling close to (if not more than) 20 mill by the end of the year, and 360 selling just above that (maybe around 22-24 mill) Wii will no doubt continue to sell like hot cakes for a few more years till the fad dies down.

the guy is not including japanese sale. So add 3.7 million in japan to get the 20 million

I think he is very low for both consoles. 22-23 worldwide for PS3 and 25-26 for 360

umm... a bit low for PS3 IMO

I think a lot of peoples' posts in this thread are somewhat funny ...

Last year the PS3 sold (roughly) 5.5 Million in the same timeframe that Pachter is predicting 7 Million units sold, and people are saying his prediction is too low and the PS3 will sell 10.5 Million.
