Forums - Gaming - Sega Dreamcast has been dead for years. It hurts me too, but it's a fact. Let's move on.

How many times have we read an article saying "The Dreamcast is not dead" (see: www.geek.com/games/dreamcast-selling-big-564846/%3Famp%3D1or "Reasons to buy a Dreamcast this year" (see: http://digital-forums.com/showthread.php/74089-Reasons-for-Dreamcastand other stuff like that? As a gamer who was in love with the Dreamcast for years, it hurts me to say this. But the Sega's Dreamcast is dead. It's been dead for years now. We need to move on.

I went to my local Best Buy  the other day and asked if I could get a Dreamcast and the guy gives me this weird look and goes, "What the fuck are you talking to me for? I don't work here." Then I talked to an actual employee and then he gave me a weird look and went, "What the fuck are you talking to me for? I'm on lunch break. Also, how'd you get in the break room?" So, clearly, no one even remembers the Dreamcast.

I recently read an article and it was something about The Dreamcast's gpu can now be used at 100%. So Developers can make the games with better graphics. There was comments about how "it has a chance" to compete with the Nintendo Gamecube now and no... just no. Like yeah the Dreamcast is more powerful than ever now but it's too late. They can make another poor port an it'll do nothing. They already marketed it, people lost interest and it's an old machine. Back then it was super powerful as the PS2 but that was over 18 years ago! I was 2 in preschool when it released and I'm turning 21 and I'm in University. It's over.

As for games, I don't even think they're going to release Sonic Adventure 3 on it anymore. I've been waiting years, Sega's been making games for other consoles. I'm still waiting Sega! I'll be the first in line to preorder that shit and inject it into my veins!

iPad's, tablets, phones suprassed the Dreamcast power back in 2014 (maybe even before that) and theres phones releasing every year so there's no way the Dreamcast can do anything to gain the mojo it never had. Anyway, how's your sex life? Sega can make the memory cards really cheap, make super great ports from Saturn, bring back the Apps, market it, make a 3rd model and sell it really cheap... and it's still not going to do anything.

I'm sorry for being negative but it's true. Let's just move on and focus on the Switch, PS4 Pro, Scorpio, No Man's Sky and Metroid Prime: Federation Force and other popular games. I'm still suprised people are still talking about the Dreamcast. It's best year was 1999, sales went down and Dreamcast died in 2001.

StarOcean Message: Sorry, not sorry.

The dreamcast is garbage. Long hail the PC master race! Glorious 32 mb of RAM- buttery smooth 25 fps. Just can't beat that

The Dreamcast just got DLC for Floigan Bros, it's far from dead!

Pff, I'll keep my Dreamcast and I'll like it!

Wii U does not count as DLC. That's just an add-on!

Was way ahead of its time. Rip, Dreamcast.

Segata Sanshiro coming here.

The dreamcast came out in 1999 and it's last game came out sometime in the early 200s. Sega isn't selling it anymore also so yeah its been dead for a while so why make a thread after all these years?

Yea but people still put out NES and Genesis cart releases so I'm sure some crazy developer might put out a game on Dreamcast in future.  They won't be huge sellers or success but it is still being done.

It's more alive than a certain handheld.
