Forums - Sony Discussion - Playstation Vita has been dead for years. It hurts me too, but it's a fact. Let's move on.

is it 2014 or am i missing something?

not to me since i'm still spending much more time gaming on Vita than PS4

I dunno, went to Japan a month ago. It's very much so still alive over there.

Don't hurt the people who still live in their own little Vita world, like Kresnik. That's just cruel.

Ouch. An oddly mean-spirited jab from NintendoPie directed at me! You have grown up... :(

Or just don't make threads in general.

How many times have we read an article saying "The Vita is not dead" or "Reasons to buy a Vita this year" and other stuff like that? As a gamer who was in love with the Vita for years, it hurts me to say this. But the Sony's Playstation Vita is dead. It's been dead for years now. We need to move on.

Another of these threads? As long as its still getting new games its not dead:

People should be able to talk about whatever consoles they want regardless of it's status. I mean... There's retro gamers, pc only gamers, handheld only gamers, etc. To each their own.

Do Vita owners even buy many games? I just happened to take a look at the top sellers and Minecraft was number one selling two million.

It supposedly has a much much higher attachrate than the 3ds.

Theres a thread about it on neogaf.

Its just that the 3DS has sold like 4 times as many units, so it probably sells more software overall.

Also feel like the Vita has more games comeing than the 3DS does... so its odd the OP says its dead.

Sadly the mainstream consumer (esp in the US) for some reason dont like the Vita.

I put it in my "old consoles" section in my signature for a reason its also a legacy console for me. Personally I liked the console a lot but after Freedom Wars it has become a bit of a rare occasion I play it.

Its sad, at least there is the Switch which at some point when its appealing to me will be my handheld, so theres that.

I still have a lot of fun with my PS Vita in 2017. Just look how many games have been released for the system since 2017. And it's still selling a few thousand units per week. As long as Sony continues producing Playstation Vita
system's and third-party developers develope games for it it's far from dead imo.
