Haven't touched my switch since March 16th. Ganon is the only thing left for me do to in Zelda and with nothing on the horizon that interests me, its going to remain dormant for a while.

All I can say is that unless you are a diehard fan for Zelda or indie games, this first month has been meh.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

No but they can certainly influence the decisions when third parties release their games, specially since we know that it is ready to be released...

But if we take out disgaea, its even worse... Cause that means their tactic is, Zelda, remaster and nothing that we know of until summer...

Edit: And before someone says it, yes I know ARMs is supposed to come out in Spring but I put that game in the same category as 1-2 Switch

The only way Nintendo gets influence over release timing is when they invest money themselves. Disgaea 5 is absolutely not worth an investment.

You are also mixing analysis with emotion. Games do not get invalidated because you don't like them. If they sell and the hardware sells, then it's undeniably a sound release strategy. The overall release schedule wasn't a secret either, the amount of releases and their timing were known. If you are now experiencing a personal post-launch software drought, then that's something you should have expected. I have nothing that I have to buy either, and that looks to hold true for an even longer time than for you; but I don't complain because I knew. Besides, this is very common with any new console.

EDIT: I guess this is the first time that you bought a console at launch.

Well I am sure if Nintendo asks a company that has good relations with them to release a game in a specific time provided it is ready (which we know it should be) so that it will help with their strategy, the company may do so for a number of reasons even if there weren't any money exchanged for it... Since they all want the launch to be successful and launch strategies should have been discussed before the launch of the system.

As for the second point, the original post that was being quoted was for my takeaway. My analysis is of course, based on my personal perference since we all know that there are plenty of indie and vc games on the store and are coming out which as you said, it's not secret. Still, that doesn't mean I shouldn't complain about it in a thread about what my takeaway from the launch is.

The other thing is that I didn't exactly buy a switch because I fully wanted to. I was interested in it sure but I have been outspoken at vgc about how I wanted to wait until fall but people on Discord and etc know that I only bought it at launch because my sister really wanted to play Zelda and couldn't wait. And yes, all console launches similar but that's why I give all console launches the same treatment.

Honestly i almost forgot my modern or retro consoles, this is the real console i've been waiting for since 2003(no joke, Sega Nomad made me overthink).

I only owned 3 games it's Zelda Botw, Bomberman and Isaac, for accessories... Mmm just Pro controller and power bank. I've used the system all modes, TV for home, portable for cafe or mall and tabletop for work like everyday and at last my most anticipated games are Splatoon 2, Yooka-Laylee, Super Mario Odysee and Arms.

Over 85 hours put into Zelda, and I just finished the main quests last night.

Then ... you are ready for the next masterpiece my friend :D Persona 5, tomorrow!!! Amazing story/gameplay/characters/soundtracks/world/details/dialoges : ) caaaant waiiit. Wish you a great new week :)

For switch.. my personally opinion: this is a "no games-flood" in the next weeks/months. no bash.. i see only boring old ports & minigames in summer -.- My buddy also sees it so. he has sold the switch for good money after Zelda, he buy 2018 a new Switch :) Ingenious, because he had win / win situation :D

Thats why: no switch-games-interest in the next time, maybe end of year or the first 2018-quarter.

Yeah I am looking forward to P5 too lol.  P5 as on now is not a for the Switch though so I felt is was a bit off topic if I brought it up.  😜

Good for you!

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Funny how you call all this 'no bash' considering this is a thread about people who have owned/played with the switch for the time of its 1st month, and you're here to post purely negative opinions on it and its future as well as promoting another game that has nothing to do with the Switch.

Hardware-wise, I'm digging it. I've heard people say that it feels like what the Wii U was intended to be, which I wouldn't disagree with, but I also feel it's substantially different in its design philosophy. While the Wii U would frequently aim for this awkward fusion of playstyles, the Switch really feels like it's a system that enables choice. It feels very natural as either a handheld or a console, and the translation is extremely simple.

I'm not expecting any games on par with Uncharted 4, but I don't really find this to be an issue, since I tend to prefer stylized or anime graphics over photorealism anyway.

Software-wise, well...I'm a bad person to talk to on this. Other than Zelda, I only own Shovel Knight and Blaster Master, which I enjoy a lot. Still, considering Zelda is my absolute favorite gaming franchise, and this game is likely either my favorite or tied for my favorite in the series, "only has Zelda" is a phrase I can't empathize with. It's basically the same as telling me it only has the best game I've played in the past decade :p The "only" isn't needed for me. Still looking forward to seeing the library grow.

I'm psyched for Persona too (gonna start it once I finish Zelda), but let's not take this off-topic. There are other threads you can use to advertise your favorite games.
