No but they can certainly influence the decisions when third parties release their games, specially since we know that it is ready to be released...

But if we take out disgaea, its even worse... Cause that means their tactic is, Zelda, remaster and nothing that we know of until summer...

Edit: And before someone says it, yes I know ARMs is supposed to come out in Spring but I put that game in the same category as 1-2 Switch

The only way Nintendo gets influence over release timing is when they invest money themselves. Disgaea 5 is absolutely not worth an investment.

You are also mixing analysis with emotion. Games do not get invalidated because you don't like them. If they sell and the hardware sells, then it's undeniably a sound release strategy. The overall release schedule wasn't a secret either, the amount of releases and their timing were known. If you are now experiencing a personal post-launch software drought, then that's something you should have expected. I have nothing that I have to buy either, and that looks to hold true for an even longer time than for you; but I don't complain because I knew. Besides, this is very common with any new console.

EDIT: I guess this is the first time that you bought a console at launch.

Well I am sure if Nintendo asks a company that has good relations with them to release a game in a specific time provided it is ready (which we know it should be) so that it will help with their strategy, the company may do so for a number of reasons even if there weren't any money exchanged for it... Since they all want the launch to be successful and launch strategies should have been discussed before the launch of the system.

As for the second point, the original post that was being quoted was for my takeaway. My analysis is of course, based on my personal perference since we all know that there are plenty of indie and vc games on the store and are coming out which as you said, it's not secret. Still, that doesn't mean I shouldn't complain about it in a thread about what my takeaway from the launch is.

The other thing is that I didn't exactly buy a switch because I fully wanted to. I was interested in it sure but I have been outspoken at vgc about how I wanted to wait until fall but people on Discord and etc know that I only bought it at launch because my sister really wanted to play Zelda and couldn't wait. And yes, all console launches similar but that's why I give all console launches the same treatment.
