Forums - Gaming - Your first time with Nintendo

Relatively speaking, I was shamefully behind the curve when it came to the NES, but it was my first Nintendo system. June 1988. I was still into the C64, and the arcade scene too. Played Super Mario Bros at a friend's place and that was it. It was a revelation. Got an NES 2 months later on a vacation to the U.S. As a truly old cunt, my first time ever was Christmas 1983, when I got my ColecoVision which came with Donkey Kong as the pack-in game.

The Nintendo DS Lite!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Donkey Kong in arcades, early 80s.

Really liked the game. Probably the reason why I didn' like SMB on NES that much...by that time, there were quite a few games on C64 that took some ideas from DK and built on it and SMB felt too simple for my liking...at the time, at least.

Pokemon. I think it's my first time. I remember getting a game boy in primary school. Was either 5 or 6. I also remember getting a Snes.... I think it was around the same time but I'm sure the game boy was first.

Duck Hunt on the NES with Light Gun.. dem old days

Donkey Kong on the Atari 2600. I think I played Mario Bros. in the arcade (the original one before Super Mario Bros.) as a kid too before I had an NES.

Pokémon Emerald and The Wild, on Game Boy Micro. I got them for my First Communion.

Duck Hunt on the NES at my cousin's house, then my sister and I were given a NES with Duck Hunt, Super Mario Bros and the lightgun for christmas. We went absolutely bananas, and at night when we went to bed, our parents and their friends would take over and play for hours.
We had 12-15 games for the NES, I think I only finished the SMB games through all those years, games were so hard back then!

I kind of had the same feeling when I tried the N64 for the first time, Mario Kart 64 with 4 players was probably the most fun I ever had on a console at that point and I knew that this was something special. Then games like Turok, Mario 64, Ocarina of Time and Goldeneye made it even better, the N64 is easily the best console Nintendo ever made (in my opinion).

Too young to remember the first game, would have been one of the following on a gameboy pocket. Tennis, Tetris, Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2.

Started with Game & Watch and NES with Mario Bros 1 and Zelda in the mid 80s. However, to this day, my fondest memory is playing Game Boy for the first time. That was the day I fell in love with Nintendo irrevocably. The love affair has never waned.
