Forums - Gaming - E3 2017: How MS needs to stir excitement for Scorpio launch and future of Xbox

Both Sony and Nintendo need to go 3rd party.

Let us chose the hardware(hhmmm..PC) to run them.

Pretty clearly the era of 'magic sauce' is long over,  you have the growing shift to digital, you have Sony iterating hardware classes and Nintendo making its most  current games on low end hardware and toying with mobile market.

May as wells open up the market completely, let your developers imagination run wild and reach more gamers by removing  the barriers. They can still produce the hardware they want, but their software development should go multiplatform.

I gave up on MS 1st party games.

I dont really think a bunch of sequels & reboots of existing Microsoft properties are going to generate a ton of buzz outside of the current Xbox userbase.

That's a subjective opinion. If they're remade into a great game by temporary standards, I don't think gamers will overlook them just because they're existing IPs.

Insta buy if they could show Sunset Overdrive 2, Alan Wake 2, Conker 2 and Lost Odyssey 2

... but I know they're just gonna reveal the console, announce the specs, show just Fohza 7 and Halo 6 running in 4K and then multiplat games like Shadow of War and other partner titles..

I mean WOW, Shadow of War running in 4K guyz, get hyped!

They need other games than halo gears forza
They need a vast amount of unique and untouched genres and games to be successfull

I Hate REMASTERS

I Hate PLAYSTATION PLUS

Halo 6 would be nice.

Wonder why people keep repeating microsoft never tries anything and forgets their old ip's when cuphead and sea of thieves are coming this year and beloved games voodoo vince, state of decay and crackdown have get a remake or sequel this year

Really believe Microsoft is trying and Forza Horizon is a relatively new IP and shouldn't be judged by the fact it has Forza in the name, like Halo Wars 2 shouldn't be judged as another halo shooter.

We won't know for a few months but Phil Spencer did say people shouldn't expect the typical xbox showing so I genuinely think we might see some new interesting ideas. All the hate really has to stop toward the brand, obviously if you lime Japanese games (I do to) Pc or Ps4, hell even switch, is a better platform but it doesn't make a lot of the game Microsoft makes less awesome.

Sure, its possible that a sequel/reboot could shake things up and appeal to a wider audience but the OP doesnt really mention changing the formulas and basically just says make new straighforward entries in these franchises.

If you make sequels to franchises that already exist on Xbox One without major changes than for the most part they will just appeal to people who already own a XBO. Halo 6, Forza 7, Shadow of Tomb Raider, Ryse 2, Sunset Overdrive 2 fall in this category.

Sequels/reboots of relatively niche Xbox/360 games will remain relatively niche without major changes. Crimson Skies, MechAssault, Brute Force, Alan Wake, Banjo, Conker, Blinx, Lost Odyssey, Perfect Dark fall in this category. None of those games were major successes on Xbox/360 so no reason to think they would be on Xbox One.

I've lost hope. The last good xbox exclusive was Sunset Overdrive.

3rd party exclusives would be cool, like a splinter cell or Alan wake but I doubt MS iis interested, and the publishers know they are shooting themselves in the foot with a single platform release.

So many duds since then, Halo 5, Gears 4, Rebore, Halo wars.

I believe MS have absolutely nothing to offer , unless 343 and coalition get their acts together. I'm fine with just playing the main xbox series staples, new ip's are a tough order, but unless Gears and Halo get back on track,it's over.

What the fuck is 4k support going to achieve?

You act like your opinion is fact. You scratch off games like Halo Wars 2, Halo 5, and Gears 4(All great games, but not perfect) and don't even mention Forza horizon 3, Ori, and Quantum Break. I'm not saying their lineup is fantastic (Sony's is better), but almost every game they have published this gen is good to great. The lineup for this year, while not huge, all are pontential great games.
