Forums - Nintendo - Monster Hunter Wii

Given the boost PSP recieved I would say Monetr Hunter on Wii could push hardware sales, prehaps a 70-90k boost in my opnion.

I posted why i believe the game will sell just as good (if not more) than the PSP versions. Even saying that Wii's online is as horrible as PS2's is silly.

How about a bet? I think the game will sell more than 1 million copies in its first two weeks. You in?

Using the Wii's online as a reason why the game is going to sell is very "lawl-worthy".

I would bet, but ban-bets are no longer honored. But I will assure you, that this game will sell nowhere near a million in it's first week.

Like it or lot it is a reason.

What about an avatar bet or something?

Nah.

I'm pretty certain about my numbers, but I could be wrong.

Capcom has usually been good about pushing hardware, so I am sure it will look great.

On a side note, I can't wait to see what Factor 5 does with the Wii...

The popularity growth on the PSP can only increase sales of that on the Wii. Monster Hunter seems like it has the same type following of Pokemon, where it is most effective on a handheld platform, however, you can bet it will at least sell a few systems.

No, DMeisterJ, I'm not calling you a fanboy for your predictions, you are a fanboy, that's a fact, so am I, but you are one who sometimes lets his fanboyism cloud his judgements with hopefullness. You hope MH3 will fail on the Wii.

That said, your being a hypocrite, not a fanboy, for this simple reason.

If MH3 was coming out on the PS3, many Nintendo fanboys would say, "Look how it sold on the PS2, it will suck for the PS3, and won't help it at all." and you would say, "That was before the game became popular, it will sell like hotcakes, and be a hugh boon to the PS3 in Japan."

What kind of game are we playing here, man. You can lie to these other people all you want, but I'm being serious here. The game will be a moderate success on the Wii, and probably a million seller in Japan, and indeed it will open the Wii up to at least some new audience, and sell a few consoles. That's a given, imo, and I don't think you bringing up PS2 sales from the game, before it even became popular, or saying that "it's an outdoor game" is gonna change that.

It's a numbered game in the series, and it will be successful in Japan, it's Monster Hunter. You aren't in denial, so I must assume your "hoping for the best" instead of giving us a real and dependable prediction.

However, there's no use getting in a fuss about it. Numbers will eventually come up for the game.

...but if it's announced as a PS3 exclusive tomorrow and dropped from the Wii, try not to dookie on yourself.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

This game will sell less than the PSP version on the first weeks, but at the end will have better legs.

This is probaly going to be the first pay to play game released not by nintendo for the wii

"Like you know"

@ Zen

Your whole post is rumor and speculation.

IF it was on PS3, I'd say it'd do better.

Come stronger than that, or don't say anything at all. My numbers are based off of previous games data, and install base.

So why do the Japanese love hunting monsters so much?
