It would certainly be cool to have Dark Souls on the go, even if the smaller buttons and and screen might make for a slightly tougher experience. Dark Souls 1 would specifically benefit from the port, as it would likely run a little better than the other console versions. I'm surprised it never got the port treatment 2 did, such a shame.

Unfortunately that can't really be said of 2 and especially 3. The Switch version of 3 would either be the worst performing or the worst looking version of the game, possibly both, and it would be up to personal tolerance to dictate if portability is worth the downgrade.

We also had that one tweet where DS twitter was praising Nintendo a bit ago.

Hmm, idk. First it was like, aww the twitters are playing nice with each other. Now I am thinking maybe there is something in the works.

Would be good if Nintendo got the support but Dark Souls (to me at least) is a game you need to immerse yourself in to really enjoy. Not sure if playing on the go will give you that.

It just doesn't make sense. Why would GameStop not only have a copy of DSIII on Switch, but also be recording DLC footage from it, if it hasn't even been announced (not the DLC, the Switch version)?

It's too good to be true.

Edit: Like, it would be the worst looking version of the game, why record off of it?

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

This was reported on Reddit yesterday, I e - mailed Gamespot but no response yet (that is if they check the customer support e - mail at all or are just ignoring me).

However I seriously doubt that Gamespot leaked a Dark Souls III Switch, that would mean that they're either beta testing (though recording a video on it wouldn't really make sense then) or an announcement is looming. I wouldn't get any hopes up, considering it's most likely just a screw - up.

Though that looks quite good if in fact Switch gameplay. From was on the list of third party developers, so even if this isn't actual footage it could happen. Just hoping people don't jump on the hype train because of old LKD rumors, and we know how LKD turned out in terms of credibility.

Not a Dark Souls fan but if true that would be great.

It's got to be a typo.
Announcing DS like that would just be weird... or brilliant! :)

Considering 65 million 3DS owners find playing games at 240p portably on a small screen 'toleratable' enough to spend money and enjoy the game play experiences they recieve running said device, I'm sure there are people out there that would still play the game and enjoy it on a handheld device even if it means it runs at 720p and has less detail.

If your going to buy it on the Switch to play only the TV most people are probably not going to so, but I can see the appeal if it means getting to play a portable version of the game, that's going to be feature that will sell the game to people on Switch over another platform which lacks this capability.

I actually think the odds of a Dark Souls port have shot up in the aftermath of a fairly strong launch for the console, but this bit of evidence just seems too unusual...

Maybe if it was footage sent to Gamespot from the devs, but even then it'd be a little surprising to hear they're using the Switch port to capture footage when the graphics would have to be superior on the other versions.

Either way, I really hope it comes to the Switch... I'd sure as hell buy that day one if it does.
