Forums - Nintendo - Will Zelda BOTW be the next GTAV on youtube?

Not even close! Not even a 1% chance!

Impossible for it to become GTA V on Youtube only because of two words: GTA Online.

Nope. As open as Zelda is, it's not as robust as GTA due to its friendly nature. Plus, Nintendo wants your money for Zelda footage, not going to work.

Nothing is going to be the next GTA V until GTA VI. A terrifying Scottish monster.

Nintendo Creator's Program says hi.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Not a chance. especially with nintendo's youtube policies.

Considering how active Nintendo is at pulling videos off of youtube that feature their content unless you're partnered with them, I'm going to vote "no".

what i find funny is that most people expected Nintendo to remove their terrible Youtube policy before getting rid of region locking.

Both them and Sony music seem to have really aggressive bots. It's annoying, espcially for Sony Music since I can't find a damn song which isn't edited by pitch or turned into some shitty remix.

Are Nintendo's Youtube policies still outdated? Haven't heard anyone complain about them for a while (PewDiePie did upload a video about 1-2 Switch titled "Dear Nintendo..." and mirrored it, so yeah).

But no. Without online multiplayer, BotW's popularity will die out before Mario Kart releases. It does have DLC, which will help it's longetivity. What I do hope is for it to become a great game for streamers and speedrunners (1 out of 2 so far). Nintendo is also much more friendly to Twitch, so that's cool.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Nah, there just isn't enough room for creative player challenges involving the physics engine. The only thing I could see being made into a challenge would be something involving stasis, and I believe all of the bosses and friendly NPCs are either immune to stasis objects or are in areas where they couldn't possibly be hurt by a stasis'd object. There's the potential for something along the lines of a "kill a Lynel using only stasis'd bombs" challenge, but there's just not enough variety for it to take off in the same way that GTA has.

(And that's before we even take into account Nintendo's...content unfriendly policies)

BotW will probably be more of a speedrunner's game, which is encouraging in its own right. Nintendo hasn't had a particularly speedrun friendly game since I'd argue Metroid: Zero Mission.
