First we hear the story of the wife of a blind man: they were able to play a video game together from the HD rumble and 1-2-Switch. Perhaps he even has an advantage on some of the mini games, with a honed sense of hearing and touch, or maybe she's letting him win. Either way they're playing a video game together.

So should we consider that they are playing a VIDEO game or just a game since there is no actual images necessary to play it?

There are images though.

People can beat Super Mario Bros. blind, so is that a video game?

PC has the ability to let a disabled person play MOBA games with his face, it isn't a new demographic, it's something that most hardware are able to do.

You do realise that catering to one disability != catering to all disabilities?

An example that doesn't help the blind.

Catering to blind people isn't even going to bring Nintendo 10,000 new sales so is isn't a new market mate.

You can debate the size all you like. But it is most definitely a new market.

There is a blind person who completed Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64. He used the games sound/vibrations to work out where to go.

Better game design will help those with disabilities than anything the Switch's hardware will natively offer.
