Congrats to tbone51. He nailed this prediction. At this point the real question is where will Splatoon 2 stop? At this point I can't tell if it will become the best selling SKU of all time in Japan or not. It is certainly in the running.

I made this thread before the splat2 hit 5mil in japan. Splat2 will be ahead 2018 of DQ11. Wish we had digital of everything. I think DQ ship+digital somewhere around 3.6mil. Splat2 will be ahead of that 2018.

 

Splat2 ship+digital should be around 2.9mil now (thia week)

Don't worry Switch DQXI will come out. Then you can change the prediction to Splat2 > DQXI (3ds/PS4/Switch).

After that you can go for Splat2 > any game and probably be right at the rate its going right now.

Splatoon 2 is possibly going to hit 4m even 5m lt mark in Japan at this rate, I think only Pokemon and AC will be able to outsell it. Remember this is a unified userbase that they plan to keep going for around 8-10 years like they're doing with the 3DS.

565K splatoon can pass that, it depends on whan, how well DQ Xi will perform on NS
If DQ can reach 4M combined sales on 3platforms then I guess it's guaranteed a win, let's hope it's not a little too late for NS port

If switch even does 800k and makes it 4mil, splat2 will still surpass it. Splat2 is gonna ne over 5mil japan
