required... if you think about the first zelda game, then you have the number to reach (though it is not called the master-sword in that game)

Will potions work.
I have a meal that will give me 19 extra hearts.

A bit off topic but if you need more extra hearts,

Cooking 5 Big Hearty Radish will give you 25 extra hearts. Although it seems extra hearts only fill up until the total heart count is 30, so it is a bit redundant if you have more than 5 normal hearts.

I am planning to stay at 3 hearts until after I beat the game.

I went for another full stam bar and now I'm focusing on hearts, once I get around 13 hearts then I'll probably go back and get another stam bar.

Had 4 hearts and 1 stamina upgrades, but can do two more by now. At least one of those is going to be stamina for sure.

I just maxed out my stamina as well yesterday. I added two hearts because no one should be running around hyrule with only three hearts, and put everything else into stamina. I think you're fine pretty much anywhere with at least six. I have 8 hearts and a full stamina wheel.

I can't even begin to imagine how much less fun the game would be if I had gone the other route, though. An easier game with less room to explore. Plus you can only run for like two seconds.

Side note, what does everyone do about arrows in this game? I'm at the point now where I feel like there should be a much easier way to have a lot of each type, but everything is so expensive and limited, and I don't want to grind them off of enemies. Should I just stop being a baby and just buy them?

there are certain areas that you can essentailly farm types of arrows. You know areas that enemies use them on you.

The path to zora's domain is one for electric arrows for instance. You don't get many, but you will get like 100 normal arrows. That is something at least.

Focus stamina, but add a heart every now and then.

Length or girth?

I'd say hearts over stamina

I've gone all hearts so far. I figure after 10 hearts I'll switch to stamina. I like being safe more so than more speed...

I'm at six upgrades for stamina and six for health, so I'm doing a 1:1 split. Makes exploration easier when you have more than two stamina wheels.

3:1 for hearts. I honestly feel I should have made a different approach, since stamina would have given me more freedom to explore, and I have pleeeenty of hearts. So I'd advice to lower that ratio.

Finding and upgrading gear is far more important, as it reduces the damage greatly.
