Nobody interested in buying a Wii-U for Zelda it seems, though understandable to not invest in an old platform i do think the high price of the Wii-U is a factor aswell.

It has the same price with switch and a very low stock...

Nintendo curtailed the production of wii u since early 2016 for a reason, they even eliminated the splatoon & super mario maker huge momentum from holidays!

They didn't want to have much wii u stock by the time switch arrives, because they would have to slash the price, something prohibitive owing to  the costly tablet controller... ;)

Also, in Japan people abandon easily a console for its successor ( at least for home consoles ) , unlike the west! Wii u version of TL0Z BOTW sold only 8k more than what it sold just in France ( 36k ) !

Paper mario color splash  which was released in October, has sold only 80k in Japan, where it usually sells the most or equally with USA ( it has sold  320k and 310k in the Na and Europe though )... To understand how japanese have left wii u since it was killed in mid 2016!

An older but similar example it twilight princess on GC, it open with 25k... LTD is under 80k but it has sold a million in the USA! ;) And GC (  longer life  than wii u, by 8 months ) received more support from Nintendo in the year that it was about to be replaced, than wiiu and plus that it was costing like a 2DS...

Amazing first week for Horizon: Zero Dawn!!! Nier: Automata legs are nice too!

Minecraft: Playstation Vita Edition has left the top 20 for the first time ever since 2 years! A true beast!

And of course Nintendo Switch had a very good launch!

Switch is off to a pretty good start, nice :)

I guess the Japanese decided for us which is the better open world game.

let's hope the switch is going to sell more and more so that japan isn't that doomed anymore^^

Awesome to see PS4 and PS4 Pro holding so well. I think Home consoles are much healthier than people think in Japan.

Really glad seeing Horizan go over 100K in Japan. I think it could have some rediculous legs, and could easily blow by 200K.

As for Switch, it launched. I'm interested to see how it does over then next 6 months, and how it effects he competition, most notibly 3DS and PS4.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Surprised Zelda didn't get over 200k retail on the Switch.

Horizon did absolutely amazing. Superb comg ratio.

Gta V actually increased this week and this budget version is almost at 300k!

Ps4 hardware at 37k super healthy. It's the #1 console YTD too which is nice!

PS4 went into slow sales mode pretty much 2-3 weeks after it's japanese launch, will be interesting to see whether or not BotW/12Switch/the Switch concept are big enough system sellers to prevent that from happening to the Switch aswell

many people bought a console but no games?

Tie ratios for Japanese console launches are quite pathetic in general. And yes, there are people who buy new consoles without games.

There's a name for people like this, but we'll call him Squidward NATO.
