It has the same price with switch and a very low stock...
Nintendo curtailed the production of wii u since early 2016 for a reason, they even eliminated the splatoon & super mario maker huge momentum from holidays!
They didn't want to have much wii u stock by the time switch arrives, because they would have to slash the price, something prohibitive owing to the costly tablet controller... ;)
Also, in Japan people abandon easily a console for its successor ( at least for home consoles ) , unlike the west! Wii u version of TL0Z BOTW sold only 8k more than what it sold just in France ( 36k ) !
Paper mario color splash which was released in October, has sold only 80k in Japan, where it usually sells the most or equally with USA ( it has sold 320k and 310k in the Na and Europe though )... To understand how japanese have left wii u since it was killed in mid 2016!
An older but similar example it twilight princess on GC, it open with 25k... LTD is under 80k but it has sold a million in the USA! ;) And GC ( longer life than wii u, by 8 months ) received more support from Nintendo in the year that it was about to be replaced, than wiiu and plus that it was costing like a 2DS...
