Forums - Gaming - Dual Analog Aiming Sucks, Hail Motion Aiming

Dual analog is great for movement, not so great for aiming. I don't think I've played any games with Gyro added on top though. Sounds interesting.

I've been saying that since the Wii, man. Mouse is still the best though.

Personally i like dual aiming, i haven't tried the new Zelda so I'm unsure if i'll like it more. I guess it comes down to what you are used to.

I've used all of them pretty consistently, it's definitely mouse>motion>dual analog, that has never changed.

VR shoot where you look is the best for me

because its more easier than analog and more stable than motion controller pointer

That's motion aiming too lol, anytime you have to physicalyl move more than your thumbs is considered motion aiming.

Maybe I should give it a shot. I disabled the option right away in Zelda. I wasn't a fan of motion aiming in other games. Both Skyward Sword and Splatoon annoyed me because I couldn't use an IR pointer.

It's not like stick aiming is a good solution, but it feels less confusing than combining stick and motion.

It's pretty badass once you get used to it, I struggled in the begining too, then I got used to it while laying ice blocks on water and moving the stick while motion aiming at the same time to get the best results.

I am infamously anti-motion controls and still am. I know I would not prefer it to analogue. I cant stand it

it's a combo, you still aim with analog, but fine tune with motion, it's really accurate once you are used to it.

Exactly it's a hard game, but the motion control, especially with how vital usage of your bow/arrow is evens the odds quite a bit.

I've never been one of those die hard FPS shooter guys, but on Zelda even I can consistently aim, fire, and get head shots in again and again. It feels great to have a game respond how I want rather than wrestling with the controls.

Nintendo is really ahead of the pack here versus the rest of the industry on this, they are just doing it the old way because that's how it's always been done, but this is better.

Gee I wonder why, maybe it's cuz you get slow mo? You sneak on yo enemies? Wowzers, mad skills!

Also like someone said, sick of the attitude that there can only be 1 good thing ever and everything else is supposed to suck.

You only get slow motion if you are in the air, I've fought plenty of mobs in real time with it, including shooting things off horses, play the game before you assume dood.

The switch needs it because of the crappy sticks but no, in my opinion...just no.

He plays on a Pro controller, which is essentially a dual shock or an elite controller.

I am a big fan of motion controls for FPS games. I play most of my FPS on PC and could never tolerate dual analog. I am happy the switch has joycons.

Disagree but hey, that's why choice is good!

People have different preferences and everyone should be able to use their preference.
