Forums - Nintendo - Breath of the wild: Anyone run into any glitches yet?

We all have heard about the frame rate problems of zelda on the Switch (though in my 15 hours of playing I've only had small dips about two or three times, and that's only because I was looking for them).

Has anyone ran into any glitches? I personally have not, and I think that's pretty major since this is an expansive open world game.

On another note, my Switch has not been scratched by the dock (though I have a screen protector on mine), and I have not run into the joy-con issues. My wi-fi connection does stall at around two bars (I'm a floor up from my router) though it hasn't affected any of the online features I've messed with.

Edit 1

Btw I've been mainly playing it docked.

No glitches now you mention it. It definately plays smoother in handheld mode though. No joy con issues or any scratches yet for me either.

No hardware and software problems at all? Hard to believe... The internet told me that defective switches have hit a high percentage of consumers and the framerate issues make BotW almost unplayable.

I don't need link to prove that. I have anecdotal evidence, that's enough to do my insistent bitching

We reap what we sow

Some framerate drops, but otherwise no issues. I'm very, very impressed with how fast you can go from sleep mode, right into the game. Also, load times short.

Several (docked)

- Drops to 20fps in areas with a lot of grass.
- Severe slowdown and freezes while fighting tall enemies with giant swords. If both me and the enemy are swinging swords at each other near objects / walls the physics engine seems to have a tough time keeping up with all the interactions.
- One system crash in the map screen, restart console.
- One 30 second freeze in a seemingly normal battle while attacking a camp.
- Physics going haywire moving a ball with a chain attached with magnetism, zipping around out of control.

This is over the course of 30 hours of playing, 99% of the time it runs perfectly. The only minor issue I have is with the left analog stick. It's too easy to accidentally click while circle strafing enemies with the shield up. Accidentally crouching cancels the shield which means instant death in most cases. It's my number one cause of death. I wish you could remap that.

Don't consider framrates a glitch.

But nope, surprisingly no. And strangely haven't seen any glitches shown off online either. Most all games seem to have some glitches that make their waves online. Especially open world games.

This is very surprising, imo. Especially with all the actual physics going on in the game.

I was fighting the final boss in a certain dungeon, and he disappeared (as part of his attack) and never reappeared (although I could hear the sound of his attacks and see certain attacks.) Eventually he did reappear though, but I still died anyway. Other than that I have not experienced any bugs.

I haven't found any myself but I did see this video on a climbing glitch.

Funny you mention the crouching thing, I've done that multiple times by accident when I'm trying to run from a really strong monster like the guardians lol.

Not really, I'm thirty hours in and All smooth sailing. Except Metal Gear and Witcher 3, tgis havebto be one of the most polished open world gameplay, I ever play

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games
