Forums - Gaming - Does Breath of the Wild have the most boring/least memorable OST in the franchise?

Is it me, or does the game barely has a OST? From all the previews and videos I've seen, there's barely any music playing in the background.

I listened to the leaked ost on youtube, but barely any of it is memorable. Just few simple basic tunes. Nothing seems to be as great as Gerudo Valley or Dragon Roost island themes.

Other than the battle theme we had a thread about a few days ago (which i thought sounded more like a bear attacking an instrument shop than music), everything I've heard sounds great. The music from the 2017 trailer in particular was genuinely fantastic.

Yeah I remember the combat themes in Witcher 3 were epic as hell. Dont know about this paticular Zelda

"Say what you want about Americans but we understand Capitalism. You buy yourself a product and you Get What You Pay For."

- Max Payne 3

Trailer music sounds epic.

Haven't listened to OST, but with all soundtracks I try and not judge until I hear it in context.

It is then where you have images or moments that float through your mind when listening. Take Ocarina main theme. Hearing that I always picture the epic moment of wandering out of Kakariko village into the giant expanse of Hyrule Field and just being floored, wow'ed. ect. It's at that moment I'm off to a GRAND adventure. That music encapsulates that.
I have context with that song. I never understand those that listen to OST's before release. you know when a new Comic Movie comes out and the OST is released like a week before. Don't get why people listen to it.

Yea and so were the Xenoblade X songs beofre the game came out. Then when playing I got sick of them and don't like them.

Most of witchers best music is not the music you hear in the game. Just like most of Skyrims best music is also not music you hear in the game.

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

I think it's more that BOTW is going for more ambient music so it wont stand out as much as other games in the franchise.

Listen to the last minute of the gamespot review.

It's a very diverse, and consitantly creative soundtrack. Not as melody-focused, which reduces earworms, but in my opinion superior as a whole.

This is what they're going for. Which can be good or bad depending on the person. I'm not a fan of it. I hated when they did that for Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Dunno I'll find out tomorrow.
