Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Switch eShops from other regions can easily be accessed

Let’s say you wanted to load up the Japanese eShop on a North American Switch. As long as you have a Japanese account, you can log in to the Japanese eShop on the system. Basically, you just need a relevant account in the eShop region you want to access.

Just one word of caution: games and DLC are paired together. That means both need to be from the same region in order to work properly.

Good.

Nice. This will come as an idiotic question, but I don't really know about it XD. Let's say that I want to play DQHI-II. If I download the game from the Japanese e-shop, the game will exclusively come in Japanese?

Good. Region Free wouldn't work for digital only users if that wasn't the case.

Kind of annoying you have to create a new ID for the region though.

Unless it's an exception, it probably would only be in Japanese. MS and PS games tend to have english (text at least) when they come out in Japan. Nintendo is bit different. I do recall people importing the Japanese Uncharted (Golden Abyss I think) because it had english text and audio

So I'll have to check if the game has en English option in the Japanese eShoo then. I hope that some games will release in that way, so I can jump my country's launch date!

I imagine that would be the JP version so if that version is in Japanese only I think it will only be in that language no matter what.

It's going to be fun to be able to import freely again.

The eShop itself, you can easily change the country of your Nintendo Account, so I wonder how they limit that.
