So the guy who was accused of trolling showing the vidéo  of very not supportive kickstand in thé other topic was right.

Are you kidding me? That video was pathetic, he was clearly forcing the switch to fall in order to make a point, only you would think it was right.

I'll get one when it drops to $250. Not spending $300 on my "other console".

this is not a "favorable" review this is a review with all the information of the system, cons are pros. Best in terms of information.

"so nintendo fans agree with favorable reviews" just stop man, that shitty console war is disgusting.

^ this.

It wasnt really a favorable review.

They basically said "wait and see" "dont impulse buy it" in the video.

From the article:

"However, as a launch product, the £280/$300 price-point is a big ask compared to the competition, especially bearing in mind a launch title line-up based primarily on Wii U ports. There are also many extra costs too - a larger SD card is essential, the Pro controller is recommended for home use, and an external powerbank is worthwhile on the go. For now, what we have is a strong foundation to build on; it's pricy and not without fault, but we can't wait to see where Nintendo take the concept."

It was cool they did a thermal recording of the game console in idle (30 ish degree celcius) and upto 52-53 degrees while playing docked.

It didnt sound like noise was a big issue or anything either.

plus:

Dont sit more than 2m from your console.

If you dont plan on holding the joy-cons carefully and pointed forwards towards the console dock, without obstructions in the way.

Good image! I don't have things obstructing my path so should be good. Still, Nintendo should do what it must to fix any potential issues.

Also, make the WiiU gamepad backwards compatible Nintendo!..

...I love my gamepad.

Why not just make this thread into the official Switch review thread and include more reviews?
Heres a few:

I like Austin Evans quite a bit. His reviews are pretty solid and don't ignore the flaws (low amount of space, ok kickstand, etc)

So Nintendo fans agree with favorable reviews, and do not agree with one which do not.
Go figure.

Which Nintendo fans in particular are you referring to?

So it's confirmed to be a non-issue. The normal position while playing games on TV has you facing towards the TV, and what kind of living room has obstructions between the TV and sitting area?

I was asking myself the same, but then why so many reports? Was everyone playing with the joycon behind their backs?

The Joy-Cons are bluetooth, just like the Wii U Gamepad. Different people got different ranges for their Gamepad signal because various devices can cause interferences. So the reviewers who reported issues likely played in an environment with higher interferences than normal. Which really isn't farfetched because they probably have lots of tech equipment due to their occupation.

The Joy-Cons bluetooth might be weaker than that of other devices, but it shouldn't be a problem in average conditions. And if someone still experienced problems, they should check if turning off or moving devices that can cause interference solves the problem.

Oh ok, seems like once you know the nature of the technology on the joycons you can avoid the limitations relatively easily, but still this is probably something they can fix, the other Joycon has a stronger signal, maybe is because is the one that sends the amiibo info to the console, that makes me believe the bluetooth on the joycons have different ranges and it could be augmented with a firmware update, but we'll see.

Maybe your sitting on a couch, and there's a table in front of you, on that table, in the same height as your hands, theres a class of water or some such?

Apparnetly it doesnt take much to obstruct the signal.

People have been holding them in such a fashion their own hands where doing it (ei. big hands and small joycons).

Sometimes it happends even when there isnt anything in the way.

Normally something like a month after release there abouts the returns are analysed, hardware failures etc and feedback leads to a minor revision/improvement at the factory where possible unless its something that needs re-design improvement in which case it will take longer so I guess we can expect to see a first minor revision to hit retail about June or July. This will be manufacturing quality improvements. This assumes high sales of the console with no unsold existing inventory waiting to be sold.
