Are you sure? I've always seen people with 3DS having their batteries lasting longer. Maybe the Vita has a more efficient sleep mode so it seems like it lasts longer. I would like to have a bit more, but it seems enough to me, definitively much more than my phone (with a 3600 mah battery) can do. I would like to see how Switch will do with an online game. I'm thinking it is, right now, a bit underwhelming. |
When the original 3DS launched, I bet someone on this site (can't remember who) avatar control or sit control or something that it would have better battery life than the "PSP 2". I was so wrong! Luckily, they never called me on the bet.
Historically, Nintendo always had better battery life than the competition but, at the expense of power. Not with 3DS! For me, the NN3DS was a huge improvement but, like I said, I never did a comparison. Unlike the original, I can turn the New 3DS off and the battery won't be dead after a few days.
I got a little wordy just to say: "My case is anecdotal. May not apply to everyone. I do have a New 3DS and a Vita, though."

I don't think so, I know is 60fps but is still not a gigantic world constantly loading more and more land when you walk, and it doesn't seem to have anything close to the advanced physics and wind simulation of BoTW for exemple, or the level of detail, I think is probably less intensive for the hardware but we'll see. |
is it confirmed to be 60 fps?
I loved 3D land, but I was disappointed to see it only be 30 fps

Indeed. The only news to get out of this thread is that Nem either has been living under a rock or is slow on the uptake. |
Don't you wish? The thread was for those saying it was going to be 3 hours minimal in a previous discussion.
The battery life is even less than the 3 hours Nintendo touted. This is absolutely terribe for any portability, sorry to say. Fans can come up with all sorts of excuses, but they know no portable console would get lack of flaming if it presented this kind of battery life. Also, i bet its even worse if you play an online game like mario kart.
Point at hand: The Switch is terrible at beeing portable. This news isn't for me. :p

your vita isn't trying to streetpass all the time, that is the only difference.. one sleeps for real, the other is semi-sleeping
I've got the original type of 3DS both small and XL and I find XL battery life better for both 3DS and DS games. There isn't a lot in it though and my first gen Vita is about the same compared to 3DS mode battery runtime. Vita seems to last a long time when used for remote play but not sure how much longer but it gets to the point where you seem to forget about the battery which I guess is a good indicator.

you are just trying to troll right?.. this can't be serious..
That's still longer than playing Pokemon Go on a fully charged phone.

This isn't news. A battery life of 2.5-6 hours was announced by Nintendo on January 12th, shortly after Nintendo said that more demanding games like Zelda will drain the battery in about three hours. If you ran into anyone on this forum who said otherwise, you already had Nintendo's official benchmarks to point to. |
I typed a long ass reply. Then, the site crashed.
Short response: my 3DS was sleeping instead of being turned off. Meanwhile it we Street Pass gathering and counting steps and stuff. Vita still does similar stuff but lasts longer, though.
