Jimquisition was actually counted! LOL The guy is a fucking clown and completely unprofessional. I didn't know anyone actually took that troll seriously. He's a comedian, not a video game reviewer. I've seen some of his stuff and his knowledge seems to be quite limited in terms of development technicalities.

If Jimquisition can get on Metacritic. Then I think all of us can if we make websites LOL VGChartz could make a review with the collective of the community.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Video game scores are completely subjective. There is objective score that a game can be given, because it's not something that can be considered a fact or not. So, Jim's review is just as valid as theirs.

Like I said earlier, I am much less bothered by the score than the content of the review. His review had certain misfacts and hyperbole, and I suspect they are intentional.

That reduces his credibility as a fair reviewer in my eyes.

And on the other hand, many other reviews mentioned faults that the game has, yet gave it a 10/10 anyways.

I highly doubt any of that about Jim is true.  Nintendo's YT policies have been crap for years.  Didn't stop Jim from putting Smash 4 and Hyrule Warriors in his top games of 2014.  Or giving XCX an honorable mention in 2015.  The only thing I take note of is his open admission that he is just tired of open worlds in general.  I still strongly disagree with the score, very strongly. But I do not suspect any foul play here.

Slant review seems to be BS though.

The bolded would make sense if he didn't adore Horizon.

Nintendo's policies have been exceptionally bad lately, and many of his personal troubles with them have been more recent than the games you mentioned.

Can you show me a 10/10 review of any game where a fault wasn't mentioned? I sure can't find one. That is because no game is perfect and a 10/10 does not represent perfection. But to reiterate, the score does not bother me. He could've gave the game a 90 or a 95 and I would still be bothered by the hyperbole and misfacts.

What I find hilarious about the Jimquisition review is that they gave Hyrule Warriors a 9.5 and Breath of the Wild a 7, I don't think this is a review you can take seriously. I get you can give whatever score you want but that just shows you've not got much creditability as a review site.

Well, he is a fan of Dynasty Warriors(and by extent, musou games) and as far as Im corncerned, Hyrule Warriors is the best musou game or close to it, so at least he is consistent.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Just reading over the comments on the Sterling review is like fording through the Great Salt Flood of '17. People are embarrassing themselves in droves.

"My God, the real joke is googling Jim Sterling. I'd rate him a negative score out of ten.

What a pathetic fat fuck."

Fanboys like that make gaming look bad.

LOL WTH

You're first sentence is literally the same as I just said. The reviews mention faults and yet give it a 10. How is Jim Sterling using hyperbole and misinformation?

It seems the clickbait reviews have started to drop in now.
This is the issue with modern day reviews and no game is safe from it. Especially not exclusives.

Yeah, it is a problem. But aren't clickbait reviews usually pushed out as fast as they can, to secure the most clicks, and not 1.5 weeks after release when there are probably not that many people anymore who actually checks the MC score?

I've noticed most low score reviews to come out after most other publications have already posted their reviews. And it always works as it has people talking about their review. Point in case these 2 low scores for Zelda. We are all talking about them, it also received another 10 today but no one is mentioning that.

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

Guess Zelda aint immune to the clickbait reviews because it dropped to a 97 thanks to 2 of those in Metacritic, still the best score for a game since GTA V i think.

Edit: WAIT! i take the whole clickbait thing back, it was Jim Sterling... thats literally one of the reviewers i trust the most... gonna have to read the whole thing first.

I agree 100% that Nintendo's penny pinching policies have been greedy and even stupid for decades. Their obsession with squeezing a few extra dollars or not losing a few extra dollars practically created the biggest competition in Sony, and led to their being so obsessed with anti-piracy measures that they adopted formats which limited what third parties could do on their systems and pushed the market to Sony. Their Youtube policies are a continuation of that, showing that they haven't learned. They are trying to pinch youtubers, and ignoring the greater revenue that free advertising provides.

But Nintendo's stupidity and greediness in their corporate decisions does not make their games any less amazing. Maybe I'd feel differently if I were a Youtube reviewer.

All things considered, why doesn't Metacritic count Angry Joe? Much as he's an entertainer, he's also a pretty good critic. Not that his inclusion would have any bearing on BOTW's scores given Nintendo's stupidity.
